OK, folks,
the skies look half overcast here. There are more clouds to the East (where the moon will be) than to the West (where the sun is now). I'm pretty optimistic to get a satisfying view of the event, though. It's such a big event that I need utterly clear skies, a few minutes of free sight around the maximum would make me more than happy.
One reason for me to watch, by the way, is that this is the second and last eclipse from the eclipse seaon that brought us the solar eclipse two weeks ago: Then, at the last new moon, we had total solar eclipse. Today, at the following full moon, the heavens are still aligned eclipse-friendly enough to produce at least a deep partial lunar eclipse. So both events are closely related.

Now I'm looking forward to the sight of a partly red moon close to the horizon.

Cheers and good luck!
Markus
