It's 22:35, the termometer says -18°C, the sky is clear, the moon is darkish red and I'm having some rum and listening some metal.

Pretty similar to me and my family up on the balcony, having tea and joking around. :lol3:

Eclipse was around 4 a.m. for me... way too early!! Now I'm going to leave home (6:27)... I suppose none of it is visible (or un-visible  :insane: ) now  :disgust:

Al: I'd be frozen and dead if I were where you are

I skipped the eclipse yesterday... I told myself if I wake up in the middle of the night (as I sometimes do), I go to see that, but I was sleeping like this:  I know that I had a nice dream, but I cannot even recall. Anyway, it made my mood for today. :)

By the way, I spotted Mars several times in the past week, thank You, NeMo!

Don't worry Lucy (: I did not see the lunar eclipse also. Because the evening was sky clear like ice - but in the time of solar eclipse - clouds were already again on the stage... :lol3:
We have a cloudy day today...
But then again, who does.

Spam! :wOOt: Everybody is spamming this nonwhatareyoumunchinlike topic! :yeha: Btw mark that long word from my last sentence, you might find it useful in that English Killer Game topic. :fish:
Well at least something to cheer me up when the eclipse didn't. Speaking about the eclipse, if crossing of clouds over the Moon is called an eclipse, then YES, I have this morning witnessed the darkest eclipse ever! :mad3: :(

It's 22:35, the termometer says -18°C

:afaid: :afaid: :afaid: :afaid:

Btw Aluqak I was watching EuroNews World Weather while the Moon was eclipsed with heavy clouds() and I glimpsed ... Chicago -9°C, New York -14°C, Montreal -22°C... and I remembered you! :fish:

I skipped the eclipse yesterday... I told myself if I wake up in the middle of the night (as I sometimes do), I go to see that, but I was sleeping like this:  I know that I had a nice dream, but I cannot even recall. Anyway, it made my mood for today. :)

Do you also sleep during the day sometimes? If yes, I'll be glad to sing you a lulluby in Novosibirsk prior to the solar eclipse. :fish:

By the way, I spotted Mars several times in the past week, thank You, NeMo!

Great! :) Don't be confused that Mars is near another star from the constellation of Taurus. The brighter one is Mars. ;)

Btw, you can look for Mars even earlier, 20h is OK. ;)

Don't worry Lucy (: I did not see the lunar eclipse also. Because the evening was sky clear like ice - but in the time of solar eclipse - clouds were already again on the stage... :lol3:
We have a cloudy day today...

Same with me... I was happy the sky was clear during the day, but then the clouds started coming. More and more... I think I spoted Moon last time between 1h and 2h. And the eclipse started at 3h. :-\

This evening, the 9th of March, if the sky is completely clear on the western horizon Europeans have the opportunity to see only 25 hours old Moon! :wOOt: And Americans 30 hours old Moon. It looks like an extremely thin sickle, like this

You should find a place where you can observe the sunset. Mark the position on the horizon where the Sun set (I think it will set between 18h and 18h30min depending on your location). Half an hour later, a thin Moon sickle will be above it. Yes ONLY half an hour, it will still be twilight and the sickle will be hard to spot. A completely clear sky is necessary and the help of binoculars is welcomed. A true challenge!

Tomorrow evening, the 10th of March, everything will be easier but less interesting, because the Moon will be 24 hours older and thicker... ;)

Thanks NeMo for the info! I'll try to see it but here it looks like it's going to rain.. I hope it won't!  :)
It can't rain all the time so put a smile on your face and proudly take another step.

The rain is not the problem but the clouds! If it's raining but the sky is clear you should be able to see the Moon. :fish:

Thanks for the info man
I'll try to catch it up... but clear skies are a real rarity these days in Canada. Yesterday, we had 35 cms of snow!... and still counting :disgust:
