In fact, that color is due to the sand of the desert  :ninja:

Hey Luthy, are these your photographs? I like the one with the buildings a lot :)

Jorge, that looks like... sulphur attack.
But then again, who does.

No, not mine. I tried to take a picture with the mobile camera, but the damn white balance balanced too well: the picture looked like a normal day  :ninja:

Those are taken from the news in Internet  :ninja:

Jorge... I can't watch the photo from here. I'll try at home  :bawl:

Ok, now I see the photo. And, incredlibly, there's not so much difference

Of course, it was only rain, and some wind... but not any sandstorn. Or better said... There was a lot of sand, floating in the air, and falling afterwairds in form of nasty rain...

Ooooh, nice!! You had to wake up early to take that picture, didn't you?

(well, in fact, I usually wake up before the sunrise, but not when I can stay at home  :shifty:).

The sky has a red-bluish hue I really like.  :wOOt:

It was 5 AM :-) I wake up at that time on Thursdays as I have to be at work before 7 AM.

Pity I was in a such hurry that I did not have time to properly set the camera. It was more intense red-bluish and the sun more intense red-yellow. It was an amazing view.

Thank you

5 AM? OMG! I see the sun appearing on the horizon at 6.45 aprox, those days... I think the timetable of the sun is not exactly the same in our countries...  :insane:

Next time, have the camera ready... although I'd have the eyes closed, if I were you! (still sleeping  :ninja: ).

Beautiful indeed, Kris! Thanks a lot.:)

Was the sun still subdued enough to watch it pleasantly? Or was it too bright already?

Cheers!

That's it :) It was completely pleasant to look at. The clouds covered it perfectly.

My dear sky-watchers,

you may have noticed on the news that there was an annular solar eclipse recently. You will find some amazing photos of annularity at sunrise here. Some of them show the chromosphere, a thin layer of the sun above the usually visual surface. The chromosphere is invisible normally, but here the photograph managed to catch it outside a total eclipse. And do watch the video which is just plain amazing!

Cheers!

Hey folks,

last weekend I managed to view a clear night-sky outside town. We were at out cottage and the afternoon was rather cloudy, but after sunset some stars came out. Dad and me watched the ISS flying by in the vicinity of moon, Saturn and Spica. Well, and then for a while all the clouds vanished and gave me a clear view of so many brilliant stars, the faint milky way and the unending dusk-dawn to the North. Wonderful!

Oh, speaking of Saturn... you might like this: We're all to be photographed.

Cheers!

I haven't seen Milky way at least 2 decades. I think it's just urban legend  :nosweat:

My dear skygazers,

you should have seen last Saturday's sunset from my sunset hill near our cottage! I went to see it with Abby and as we left the cottage, the very last rays of the sun were golden on the ripe wheat. The sun was still blazing bright as it set, almost too bright to behold directly. But the sky around was glowing with gold  - and the most beautiful sight was opposite it: Towards the southwest, beneath the pink bow called "belt of Venus", the night was rising in leaden gray, and an almost full moon was rising above and to the right of that. Wonderful!

Cheers!
