Ooops, Lucy,

seems I messed up two figures of speech. What I meant to say is "Stay strong and well, don't let anything drag you down". But that's correctly expressed as "Keep your chin up!". In German we have the saying "Halt die Ohren steif!" for the same, and that's literally "Keep your ears pricked".

Apparenly, this is also of interest for our Regina Mala Germanonecarica.

Anyway, we're having a cloudy but bright day. No sunshine, but when you go out you still get a good dose of daylight.

Yeah. Either indoors, when you put on the heating, or on a single sunny afternoon in mid-July.

Nah, I heard the same and I do want some warmer weather at last.

Indeed, we're having spring-weather!

It's warmer, sunnier - and for the first time since months I've seen cumulus clouds, which make the sky look much more summerly than that uniform flat cover we used to have for ages.

You could talk about the weather with them. We could gather a lot of specific meteorological terms so you can scare them, my evil queen.

BTW, I'm withdrawing my praise for our local weather because thick clouds have rolled in.

Das ist doch kein Wetter mehr! - It's too cold and too wet for this time of year!
Dieses Sauwetter geht mir auf den Geist! - I would prefer some warmer and sunnier weather!
Scheiß Regen! - It's raining too much for my personal taste!

Hey folks,

we're having the strangest weather. There's a bright hot thing in the sky that lights up the whole landscape and makes it warm outdoors.

Dunno what that is, but it might be dangerous: I saw a guy with a burnt neck today who said he'd been exposed to the rays of that hot bright thing.
