Jorge, I think you will get some serious snow cover soon. And then I hope that your railway companies and your municipalities are smarter than ours who went "Snow? Snow?! Who could have ever expected snow right now, in winter?" last year.

Our weather is boring. High pressure without end! Sometimes more foggy, sometimes clearer, sometimes a bit frosty, sometimes a bit above zero - but always that calm high pressure weather. Well, as far as I'm concerned we can keep this kind of boredom for another while!

Hey folks,

a serious storm is approaching. It's the kind we call "Orkan" in German. I've found "hurricane" as a translation but of course we're not talking about the tropical hurricanes here. This name is given to any storm with wind speeds of 120 km/h or more. The worst part will pass us by, but what we'll get is heavy enough, including some heavy rain. There's a severe weather alert and there's likely to be some damage.

In the mountains it's even worse than down here because "Joachim" is a snow storm there. Trees are collapsing under the weight in the storm. Let's hope that no people get seriously injured.

Oh, and farewell, my dear winter-barbecue tonight.

We got the orkan here too (also call it the same).  Not in Prague, here is very strong wind but not so strong. Orkan is in the mountains...

Well, Eresh can probably just laugh at our "severe weather" but to me it's scary enough. I do hear sirens more often than usual today, that's probably due to the storm - even though it's not sooo bad here.

Severe weather brings catastrophes in my country. And I mean catastrophes. We are never prepared for our long winters (which involves ridiculous amounts of rain). It's very sad because as always, poor people are the most affected 

Now it is summer (we only have summer and winter) and during this time of the year we get hit by a few "cold fronts". Which is nice. But usually cold fronts bring strong winds, and again, poor people are affected because it damages their homes

By the way, I have never seen snow  only on TV, etc 

Today it is hot. I am thinking 28C. Very sunny (turns on her fan). Read on the newspaper we might have rain  . Weather is going nuts

Yeah, Eresh, I'm aware that your storms are much worse than ours. And luckily even "Joachim" passed without any major damage here.

Never seen any real snow? Well, we still get some every now and then; the past two winters were pretty cold and snow-rich. Perhaps you'll get some snow on a journey one day.

Canada's weather has been behaving oddly.
It's middle of freakin' December, yet there's been very little snowfall. The first snowbeds seemed to be the last; they were gone after a pair of days and it really hasn't snowed ever since. I'm hoping that it snows when I'm back from my winter holiday in Kuwait (yeah, that makes perfect sense... One week or so... in Kuwait... ).

But we're not getting any real winter, either. Yeah, it's a bit colder now, but there's no snow and the next warm days are coming up.

when I was to Munich early last week I saw a little bit of snow there. But last Saturday there was some serious snowfall even down here, and it's been frosty ever since, so at last I'm getting some winter this winter.

Here we are getting real winter this week. It finally started to freeze. Today it's supposed to be -5°C during the day and on Sunday -11°C during day and -30°C at night  It's rather unpractical on that day cause in the Sunday morning at 9:00 AM we are supposed to attend an excursion at the airport - which is rather windy and cold place even without this Russian winter (it really came from Ural this cold front) so I really wonder how am I going to make it with no proper clothes.
Not to mention the frosts in Tromso... which is waiting for me on 16th Feb.

Oh, River, I see! We're freezing, too. Of course, we also could not escape this front from Ural. In fact, I can't remember when the end of January was so cold (and the beginning - so warm ).
I didn't buy winter boots and my old ones I forgot in a cottage, so now I'm suffering )).
