I've decided to open this topic to hear your thoughts on Unia, the latest realest from the guys that gave us such great hits as Replica, Raven and Wolf and San Sebastian. And stuff.
I was told the album sucked, but insisted on hearing it with mine own ears before pointing the finger and yelling: J'accuse!
Good thing I did.
Unia is dark, brooding and heavy, but much, much slower than what Sonata usually puts out. It's not generic [speed] power, it's bizzaro prog power, just the kind I like, and I found myself jumping merrily when first I heard it (that would be a few hours ago). I integrated the album into my playlist while reading First-order Logic - An Introduction (great stuff, albeit a bit slow on the plot) and put the whole thing on shuffle. The moment I heard 'For the sake of revenge' the book was out of my hands and I was checking what the hell Winamp turned out.
This couldn't be Sonata... could it?
I've read a lot of contradictory reviews on the Net and people are generally either thrilled or repulsed by it.
