Atlantis Lucid Dreaming
« on: August 06, 2005, 06:59:26 pm »
What do you think about this "new" album? It seems that it was Nuclear Blast who decided to release this mix of old albums, not Therion itself(*). I confess that I've downloaded it, even when I already have all the songs in the previous albums. I think it's a little silly to make such a mix, but I have it (I've seen it in the shop, but I have not bought it   ). What's your oppinion? To help you, I've added the tracklist and the cover.

Tracklist:
----------
01. In Remembrance
02. Black Fairy
03. Fly To The Rainbow
04. Under Jolly Roger
05. Symphony Of The Dead
06. Here Comes The Tears
07. The Crowning Of Atlantis
08. Mark Of Cain
09. Clavicula Nox
10. Crazy Nights
11. From The Dionysian Days
12. Thor
13. Seawinds
14. Black Sun (Live)

Release Notes:

"Atlantis Lucid Dreaming" is a mix of known tracks from "Crowning
Of Atlantis" (1999) and "A'arab Zaraq Lucid Dreaming" (1997).

Strange indeed...

However I wouldn't buy it, I mean it's Arab and Clavicula put in together. It is more of a collectors item I think, and even though I am a fan of the band I don't do collector stuff.

A'arab Zaraq is full of iffy cover songs, I never listen to it.  'Here Come The Tears' is their worst cover song ever!!  Destroys a Priest classic.  I see also they've ditched the stuff that was used in the movie (never listen to that either!)

Crowning of Atlantis is far better, but the original release has more live tracks.

There is no point to this release:  If you don't have either of these albums, just get 'Crowning'.  I think it's fair to say anybody can live without A'arab Zaraq.

I have both A'arab Zaq... and Crowning. I listened a lot A'rab Zaq when it went out (I used to like the "Therionized" version of the movie' tracks) , but then I got bored with it. I agree that Crowning of Atlantis is far better, but still I prefer other Therion albums. I don't think I'll put money on this one, it seems to be a collector stuff and I don't have a hair (or a single coin) of a collector.

Hi Luthy, special Queen!  I have a question:

How many eMules have you got in your collection, and where do you keep them all?

Thanks,
Your ever-so-loyal-and-respectful-subject,

By now I only have 1599 eMules, of all sizes and colours. I have a little problem to keep then, indeed... The first 58 fit well enough in the hard drive, the other 984 are kept in a external hard disc of 240 GB, and the rest... well, I'm sat on a eMule, and other one is very confy to sleep on it... and as a table they are cool too!

As I don't ahve either Crowning nor A'Arab Zaraq, I think it's worth buying it (or at least downloading it, it's cheaper) for me.
But indeed, it's more of a collectors thing or something for newbies who don't have neither of the two albums to ge the songs for cheaper.
