Once I was silently laughing because in front of me in the train, a tourist group was trying to pronounce Calella (they already had heard the name because of the loudspeakers announcing the station)

Oh I hate when someone is laughing at my wrong pronunciation - then I usually stop talking for long time in foreign language cause I feel stupid.

Don't worry Miri! In that case they were laughing themselves, and I only made a little smile... I think they were laughing more of themeselves than I did! The "ll" between vowels is not easy to pronounce for non-spanish people... In fact, even I can't pronounce it 100% (there's a little difference of pronuntiation between "ll" and "y", and I tend to pronounce "y").

And... better for me Markus doesn't challenge me to pronounce anything in German  

PD. Don't even try to make me pronounce the simple English word "weird", either. Uh oh... I'm speaking too much!

Perhaps we can take an evening to learn and practice the correct pronounciation of "Callella".

I'd prefer to teach you to pronounce "Calella", rather than "Callella"... although I can try, if you wish!

Luth, is it pronounced like "ll" in Lloret de Mar? If it is then I know how to pronounce it, but it's not easy to explain on English.
