Just wondering how many other metalheads and Therion fans like industrial? For me personally it is almost equal with metal. My favourite groups are VNV Nation, Wumpscut, Covenant, and Apoptygma Berserk. Most of the metalheads I know like industrial and the few rivetheads I know, like some metal... So do you?

I like Mortiis, but that's pretty much the only thing I've heard...

Well for those who are interested here are what some lyrics one of my favourite industrial songs and their websites:

Passive fields. January two thousand and twelve
A nation that stands alone
Cold voices, faces pale
Gathered unto their judgement day
Such pride remains unbroken
Such words remain unspoken
Just mothers to stand in vain and cry
Tears and medals in the rain
Shall I recall when justice did prevail?
No reason to be found why reason did fail
The all clear resounding
The way was clear to rebuild this land
Shall I call on you to guide me well
To see our hopes and dreams fulfilled?
On this day of our ascension

Stand your ground this is what we are fighting for
For our spirit and laws and ways
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war
For heaven or hell we shall not wait
Shall I think of honour as lies?
Or lament it's aged slow demise?
Shall I stand as a total stranger
On this day in this stone chamber?

The all clear resounding
The way was clear to rebuild this land
Shall I call on you to guide me well?
To see our hopes and dreams fulfilled?
On this day of our ascension
On this day we praise the fallen

Stand your ground this is what we are fighting for
For our spirit and laws and ways
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war
For heaven or hell we shall not wait
Shall I think of honour as lies
Or lament it's aged slow demise?
Shall I stand as a total stranger
On this day in this stone chamber?

I'm an old dude, so the stuff I like that is 'industrial' is probably not the same as the bands you mention  :) .  I like Laibach, Die Krupps, 300,000 V.K.

I prefer a bit of metal mixed in, so bonus tracks by metal bands tend to be a good bet, e.g 'Chaos BC' by Sepultura (the re-mix of Chaos AD), 'Grin (no-religion re-mix)' by Coroner (re-mix of grin), 'D.N.A.' by Voivod, and all of the Re-manufacture album by Fear Factory.

As Tzar-O says, Mortiis is good for a listen, but maybe he is more like 80's electronica?

Anyway, Laibach are the best!

...and early Die Krupps (their pre-metal phase) is possibly the real start of true indutrial, they used real bits of factory machinery within their songs!!

but my knowledge on modern bands of this genre is limited, sorry!

You may like the Kovenant, Sirius13 since they are a metal band. but they use industrial techniques, etc. In the music. One of my favourite songs in general is by them, Stillborn Universe.

...funnily enough I got the 'S.E.T.I.' album when it first came out, but I haven't given it much of a listen since then, mainly because I got too many CDs at that time and couldn't keep up with them all!  I'm giving it a quick spin now (listening to 'Stillborn Universe').  It seems to be a good solid album.

I've probably got a few others as well that I didn't think of originally   :

Have you ever heard anything by Senser?  They normally have a bloke singing for them, but they did a CD back in 1998 called 'Asylum' where they let the girl loose on the vocals, and this was by far their best album.

Samael have also kind of gone an industrial way, I know Ereshkigal likes them too.  I've got their new Reign of Light album, but IMHO it's not as good as 'Eternal'.

White Zombie/Rob Zombie, all their stuff was always borderline industrial too.

Best albums in my opinion are oldies but goodies:
'The Final Remixes' by Die Krupps
'Jesus Christ Superstars' by Laibach

I've seen Mortiis being labeled in over 20 different categories (ambient, dark, death, industrial, electronic, doom, rock, folk, etc...)

I found stargate to be more ambient-industrial, but don't know about the rest of his albums...

Remember, it was me, CARLIOS  who said this, not anyone else :P  :D

Forgot to add to my list, Rammstien (could sometimes be considered industrial), and Front 424.

I once heard someone describe stargate to be more ambient-industrial.  But I can't for the life of me remember who it was?!

If only that person had some kind of noticeable signature that would stick in my mind, I might remember!
