It is excellent that Lordi won!  Even the UK gave it 12 points!  My country does something right at last  :)

I must confess, I really liked the Norwegian entry, too.  Although it wasn't metal, it was a mature mid-paced-folk-pop kinda thing.  The jew's harp elements and the folkishness kinda reminded me of Moonsorrow.    :D

Thanks Markus for he explanation. So it is kinda like an European American Idol, but on a larger scale and more serious, since various countries participate and also different genres.

And Lordi is from what country?

Night before Eurovision I had a dream.
Didn't wanted to say it,beacuse it doesn't matter,but now when Lordi won(I am glad,btw,though I don't like them),I can:
Therion performed To Mega Therion.Chris was 3 meters high, with tentacles instead of legs.He was naked, but his skin was burned, like a flesh, red and black. He was playing his guitar, without emotions, and his eyes were pale.
The keyboardist was Banshee. Her fingers were so slow, and still the tunes were very fast. Her projection was abominative.
The bass player was without bass.He was chanting in front of Circle. After few words, the song cahnged to Lepaca Kliffoth.
Pyotr had a set of drums as a part of him,so he played them.He had large tail, and he was some kind of Hydra, only he had one head. His theets were sharp, and he made the beat with his hands, not with drumsticks.Choir was bond in chains...
And that night,Lordi Won!
Uhu,nightmare.
Hera thee,
Hear my tunes!
Sang from cliffs,
Sang from dunes,
Sang in sorrow...
Sang in rage...
May it fills holes hollow!
May it fills hearts in cage!
In Valhalla thy Journey ends...

I did, DS,

and in the end they got 10 points from my country (12 being the possible maximum).

Oh, and on Wednesday there was a pic of the Finnish prime minister in the newspaper that showed him celebrating with the band, giving the horned greeting.

Cheers!

I voted for them!  I don't usually vote in anything at all like this, but I made a special exception for Lordi.

They aren't even really my type of thing musically, but I think it's worth supporting Metal in general, and they don't take themselves too seriously.  Well worth their victory!

I liked Norwegian too, Sirius! And the Israeli entry was nice too, with that piano stuff.

I didn't vote anyone, main reason being that I was crying with laughter, 'cause my dad kept bumbling something about Lordi "is imoral! such things are insulting for culture!"

Thanks Tequila!
