haha definitely Lori, there is no question about it... as much as I'd like Tarja (see NeMo I'm a person that can be objective :nana: ) Lori will always be better... bigger range, better technique, better breathing, better control, let's not mention how Lori can sing for a month in a row, every night over 2h or in december, 16 nights for 3h (and travelling by bus every day), while Tarja was complaining about shows that lasted for 1.5h... I don't think I need to go on

@Agnes: sorry, I do not want to annoy you but I want to annoy MissSwan simply cannot leave MissSwan without an answer! :P

MissSwan do not forget that Tarja was singing almost all 1.5h of those 1.5h while Lori was singing at most 1h of those 3h, with long breaks in between. ;) And about the range, I'm not an expert for that, but I've read somewhere that Tarja has the range of 3 octaves, and I know that it is an average range, nothing extraordinary (see, I can be objective too :nana:). But I don't know about Lori's range, do you? Obviously she can go higher than Tarja, but I somehow got the impression she cannot go very deep. While on the other hand Tarja can - listen to the ending of Angels Fall First and certain sentences in Creek Mary's Blood. ;)

Great interview. :)

Speaking of Tarja vs. Lori - Lori definitely! The comparison is almost ridiculous.  :D
And imho Tarja is something between mezzosoprano and dramatic soprano so it's obvious she can hit much lower notes.
While Lori is (I think so) lyrical soprano, who really brings that something to the song and can go both high or low.

Everybody should listen to her other band Aesma Daeva, their last album is really good, and her voice really shines there from
one to another extreme. Even though I prefer Lori live. I think just that audio track can't 'capture' her voice in its entirety.

Well, she might can, but never heard her singing some 'normal' song.

as for her range if i remember well she told us it's 4 octaves (right Lasse?) and if she can sing Lemuria which is a song for an Alt :O I don't think there's need for any more proof that she's better than Tarja :nana:

And why do you feel the need to compare Lori and Tarja all the time MissSwan? Agnes nicely asked us not to do so... and it seems to me I'm the only one that obeyed her request... ;D So forget about Tarja PLEASE! :nana: Let us speak ONLY about Lori... :P

Does Lori headbang on the stage sometimes? ???

Every woman can sing "normal" songs ;)

I'm not sure about this, when you study classical singing I think that you lose the ability to sing "normally"...

I am not sure if at Anniversary shows it was possible - because of her horns  :D They surely fell down of her head...

Ehm, I think that she can sing normal... You never know, how she sings when she's alone at home and sings just for her own enjoynment...
Btw: This could be a great question for next interview with Lori ;)
But then again, who does.

@wolfshade: :disgust:
You have a topic about Tarja out there! We have agreed that this is topic about Lori so let us speak only about Lori here. :nana:
I have more questions for the next interview with Lori... Can she sing that Nirvana song Smells Like Teen Spirit? ;D
