Finally I got myself The Miskolc Experience!
Happy mood turned on again
I'm lighter for 20 euros which is really not as much as I expected it to cost, but anyway it really doesn't matter since it's THERION!

Good stuff, isn't it? The choir screwed up some passages of the Therion pieces, but still it's great music. The Miskolc version of "Draconian Trilogy" is my favourite version...
Cheers!

It's different but still breathtaking sound! Hope to get to see DVD soon, but my program on computer needs some fixing so I'll have to wait for that a bit longer..

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Requiem
I saw a recording of this under Herbert von Karajan for less than 6 Euro, so I just bought it. I was curious due to Therion's version of "Dies Irae", anyway. And I must say that so far this piece is indeed my favourite from the whole requiem. The classical version is powerful and dark, too, although you hear more the fear of the wrath ("What trembling will there be on the day of wrath!") in the original but more of the wrath itself in the cover.
Cheers!

G.F. Handel: Messiah
This was the first time I bought an MP3 online.
Usually I buy the CD and then create my own MP3 for taking it along in my player. But now I just needed to hear this amazing music again and had neither my MP3s of it nor a CD-drive at hand, so I just bought another version of it online. It's labeled "The English Concert" and does sound fine. It has some adornments in the vocal lines which don't sound in place to me, but this version of "The people that walked" may well become my favourite one - it's taken slower and darker here.
Cheers!

Wagner: Das Rheingold, conducted by Karajan
Wagner was pursuing me... first I discovered an animated short version of "Rheingold", then the next day I had several customers from Bayreuth.
I took that as a sign to get some genuine Wagner (also after liking some of the Wagner pieces from Miskolc a lot) and surfed straight to Amazon. Today the package arrived, and I'm giving it a first spin. I'm somewhere between "Umm... hrrrmmm..." and "Umm... wow!!", presumably slowly drifting towards the latter.
Cheers!

Congrats, Markus! Welcome to the club! I wish you enjoy drifting on the waves of the music of this great composer.
As for myself, I can't wait for May, to go to the Opera house to see
The mastersingers of Nürnberg
again.

Thank you, Lucy!
I'm growing more and more fond of this opera. Some of the pieces do give me the heebie-jeebies. Some of the pieces sound incredibly modern.
Tonight there will be a performance of "Siegfried" on 3sat, a German-speaking culture channel on TV. Think I might watch that.
Congrats to you, Agnes!
I think we even have a topic in the OT-forum for recent purchases that don't relate to music.
Cheers!

I haven´t bought anything, but i got very interesting music from the internet. I´m making a research of the beggining of heavy rock, and I´ve downloading a lot of albums from the 68 to-74 to analize the sounds. This albums are very powerful:
Budgie - Never turn your back on a friend
(this album has a song called Breadfan, a song which metallica made a cover in the garage inc album)
Frank Zappa - Hot rats
(a brilliant jam album full of amazing blues guitar with heavy sounds and excellent arrangment of drum, bass, strings, brass, etc)
Black Widow - Sacrifice
(the first band that made a satanic rock show like a ritual. Their music is more thant excellent, is very very powerful and as complex as simple. They mix a lot of folk music with chill out rock).
I also have been listening to heavy psychedellic rock from this era (retro bands) with satanic themes and the results are extraordinary. Fucking brilliant bands:
The devil´s blood - The time of no time evermore
(this is a combination of Iron Maiden early style, Steppenwolf Born to be wild rythms, psychedellic female voices like Jefferson Airplane and shocking blues mixed with may be Ian Gillan high notes, Lynyrd Skynyrd guitar solos style, with dark rock ambients like Dissection´s Reinkaos)
Blood Ceremony - Blood Ceremony
(folk tunes with flute, heavy doom guitars like Black Sabbath´s Master of reality and female vocals)

Europe (specifically Spain) became Metal shopping ground for me... So I got...
Epica's "Divine Conspiracy" and "Classical Conspiracy"
Slayer's "South of Heaven"
The special edition of Finntroll's "Nifelvind"
Tool's "Lateralus"
An Iron Maiden t-shirt re-printed from their "Number of the Beast" tour
A Led Zeppelin t-shirt
And since my old MP3 died after 3 faithful years, I bought a new one - same brand, different model, but all compatible with the stuff I had for the previous player.

Another vinyl
Today's amazon order: Björk's album Vespertine!
My favourite. It is her most inner album.
