Ok, we need some consistency in how we welcome new members.  Some have said that people may get scared off by seeing a big topic all about them in their first few seconds on NTSMS!

I thought maybe we could poll for some sensible views and achieve some kind of consensus on how to welcome new members  :)

I've voted for the "Oooh, a poll! Ain't seen one of these for a while", and I see everybody voted the same  :nanana:

It's true that opening a new thread for each new member maybe it's too much, and experience tells me that it's not useful at all. Maybe the old option to say welcome to them in the shoutbox and inviting them to post is the best  :blush:

I was about to vote "Start a revolution on their honor"... then I said to myself "Hey myself! it has a while since the last poll and this one is pretty cool, let's vote "Oooh, a poll! Ain't seen one of these for a while""... but then I realized I was hungry (I'm still hungry by the way :unsure:) and well... I just couldn't miss the chance to have fresh food in my very own restaurant :ph34r:

Hi there,

the real problem with this poll is that it doesn't allow multiple choices. There are many best ways to treat new members. Offering them cookies, then killing them and each other in a new revolution, finally feeding them to Aluqak - that all seems very reasonable to me.
