Hey folks,

I did it! One of the few advantages of this hateful early shift are the morning skies, and this morning I saw a very slender crescent in the rising dawn. Imagine: Dark blackish night-blue above, going through lighter blue and an almost turquoise layer to the yellow and red hues where the sun is about to rise half an hour later. Somewhere in that lighter blue there's a very slender crescent with an earthshine so bright that you can still perceive the whole globe despite the morning light!

At my latitude that is a rather rare sight which you have only a couple of chances to see each year. This time I saw the moon less than 31 hours from new moon. :yeha:

Cheers!

Markus

Today no beautiful sunrise, because of clouds, but I use to see the sunrise almost every morning... I wish the hour changes as soon as possible, as I'm seeing the sun rising when I'm almost entering the tunnel... and I can't see it anymore! Hour changing RIGHT NOW!!!!! (as our High Priest says, that's one -if not the only- good thing of the early shift)  :ninja:

Too much clouds, too much rain... I don't even know how the moon looks like anymore :disgust:

Hey folks,

I still haven't told you of the full-moon-night from Wednesday to Thursday. The moon accompanied me all through the night... I saw it in honey colours after it had risen in the eveninig, I saw it in a bright silvery white at midnight when I couldn't sleep, I saw it in white again in the early dawn on my way to work and finally I saw it in honey once more from the office, just before it set. Rarely have I seen such an extremely fullmoony night!

Cheers!

Wonderful, Lucy,

thank you for posting this so fast!

In fact this is not a rainbow but another member of the huge family of halos. This one is known as "Brocken spectre" because you can see it from high mountains as well. Luc(k)y you!

Cheers!

I didn't want to, but I fell asleep during the flight. The sound of the signal woke me up, as the captain called the stewards, so I immediately jumped on the window the usual way. You know, I had to rub my eyes twice. :lol3:

What a sight I saw this morning!

The old, very slender lunar crescent was rising, still orange from the horizon haze - yet earthshine was clearly visible. Some degrees straight above the moon, brilliant Venus was blazing as morning star. Just plain beautiful!

The moon will disappear now for new moon, but Venus will linger on.

Cheers!

I like you guys' describing
Today when I still in Shanghai there was plain blue in the sky, very rare in this city. And when I get my hometown, (there was bright sunshine all my way home. Today the sun seems to very proud of showing his power :wOOt: ) the evening glow was so soft

This topic also reminds me of Xinjiang in August.
(When I go out with camera, what I shoot are always tree, sky,  tree, tree, sky,  sky,  tree, sky, sky,  sky,  sky,  sky……)
So I keep doing that when I go to Xinjiang last summer
I can't forget how expanse there was , so , put photos

I'm not good at shooting, the real sky there is really beatiful.
