Babylon 5
« on: August 24, 2011, 09:12:52 am »
I think we might be able to chat here, Luthy :ninja:

Oh, these series surely deserve a proper topic....

And yes, about yesterday, it was called The Long Night and it was so very sad. It was first time I felt sorry for Londo (before I was only upset about him). Terribly I pittied poor Vir and his bad consciousnes. But the worst was to see how badly they hurt my most beloved character and after Centauris leaving the Narn homeworld how the other Narns did not understood anything of it at all. They did not realize it's all much bigger than they think... They called him coward :bawl:
But then again, who does.

Aaah... I've read the summary of the episode, and it's not the one I thought first. Yep, it's one of the important episodes... Now you can see characters in a different way: if you wanted to kill Londo first, now you really feel pity for him, and specially for Vir. What will happen with G'Kar now? I can't tell... it's something to discuss later, when you watch more episodes!  :ninja:

PS. Perhaps this is the most important season in the developement of the characters, and the most touching too.  :ninja:

I was always very sorry for Vir... he's so good guy... well, he says in the episode what he just wanted from live - good place, someone to love... and he gets all this shit falling on his head.

I already know that G'Kar will die... I got accidentaly some spoiler looking for something.
I have to say that this episode with G'Kar seeing so badly tortured... I was wondering I have the power to watch the series further. It's really got deep inside my skin.
Also the planetkillers stuff from the Shadows...

So much evil :(
But then again, who does.

I think this episode is the most evil... perhaps with the exeption of another one in last season. After all, it's a war againts shadows... A thing I like a lot in Babylon is that it's not only good vs. evil: characters that look evil in the beginning are able to great sacrifices for the correct thing, good characters can be lead to shadow for the wrong reasons. Although they talk about absolute good and evil, you soon realize there's not only darkness in the shadow, is there not only good in the light. And the power of the will and love.

I won't tell more by now...  :fish:

Yes, that's so very good about these series... No character is only evil or good... nothing is black or white. Every character has its mistakes... Ivanova, Garibaldi... everyone.
So it's much closer to real life than one would think.
But then again, who does.

I already have the series... but they are the greater part in Spanish, some with a extrange mix of Spanish/English... some few errors... I'm downloading (don't tell anyone  :fish: ) in English only, with spin-offs and movies. Some day I'll watch them on my own.

Hi again Queenie! :-)

Last episode was sad for me again! I watched Neroon die :( I like him since the first moment as well as G'Kar. I simply have good intuition about the characters...
I will miss Neroon a lot.

Also got finally bit mor familiar with Marcus Cole :-))) He's very funny guy! And the English of the actor! I love his accent, could listen to it all day long  :med2:
But then again, who does.

Ah, yes... I had to look at the Wiki to remember who he was and how he died, but now I do! I don't remember what I thought of the character when I saw the series for first time, but he definitively had a courageus end. About Marcus... I don't know how much you know of him right now; he's a kind of a funny character, but beware! Every funny character has his dark side (I don't mind dark in the meaning of "bad", but in the meaning of "hurt soul"). I watched it dubbed, so I can't tell about his English: some day I'll watch it in the original version and I'll be able to tell you

You'd better check it :ninja: His English is awesome! Aragorn guy!

Oh yes, of course, every character (at least in Babylon 5) has a dark side. Something they want to hide, some wounds which never stopped burning.
I don't know what awaits for me now, as You can't tell me, but I know it's like that... I take them as they are. As I have my dark sides too so I cannot tax him for anything :-)

I am also currently nervous about Garibaldi - You know as he left the position of chief of security and he behaves so strange. And poor Lyta - she had to join the Psi Corp again :/

I am so impatient to find out what's up with Michael Garibaldi...
But then again, who does.

Ah, about Garibaldi...

Grrrr... I can't say anything... The only thing I can say is... that you will know it all just before one of the terrible episodes (IMO). Don't be impatient. You need time. You need more Babylon watching... a lot...

I need to read the books!  :ninja:

We'll be watching again tomorrow :-) I am so much... I miss my wonderful Narn! He wasn't really there in last eps... and now, with Neroon dead :( he's the only one to cheer me up together with Susan  I love commander Ivanova!

Btw... you might have notized how badly has our beloved Chekov changed (I mean... Walter Koenig): from a young, good Russian crewman in the Enterprise, to a bad, very bad telepath  :ninja:  :bawl:

Oh, You mean Mr. Bester. Yes, he's a real pain in the ass. I have to say that I did not know he was on old ST series! (Did not see them.).

Sneaky little bastard. But I have to say that he plays Mr. Bester very very very well!
