Thor seems to have not come back ever since two nights ago. He's learned the Arabs don't drink mead.
Expecting retaliation from the Gods in the near future. :afaid: :ninja:

Yeah, I wonder to paint some nice Thor's hammer this weekend. For his celebration and burn it at the balcony as a sacrifice for him  :afaid:
But then again, who does.

Hey folks,

Kris, did you take that photo by yourself?

Do paint a Miollnir if you feel like! But please take a photo before sacrificing it. (Or just keep the painting and offer him some mead. By drinking it in his honour. :wicking:)

Jorge, perhaps there is some al-Thor around who prefers hemp to honey?

Cheers!

Oh yes, I did :) It took me several minutes on the balcony to catch that lighning :)) as You see, the quality is terrible cause I had to zoooooom a lot. And as it is just cell phone camera, it's pretty pixelish :D

But my dear cell phone does the best it can!

Let's see with the Mjǫlnir what can I do! (But in any case, I have got a mead too... one bottle safe in the bar!)

That's a good question, Markus, for Jorge... what if he prefers there something else?
But then again, who does.

Congrats to my cell phone! x) It has a special ability... called "best pic TM" it catches several pics in few seconds ... about 6 and then You can choose which one You like best. It's awesome exactly for this :) I was lucky, this was the last pic it made in the line. And the lightning just came x)

Ouch, Jorge,

that should be enough to literally fry something. :afaid: What have you done to provoke that?

Kris, that reminds me of the Eiapopeia or whatever the thingy was called whcih blew up last year, stopping European aviation for several days. Not that I missed the planes in the sky, but that was pretty bad for all those who were dependent on planes.

Cheers!

Yes, but I think that Grímsvötn is not that terrible as Eyjafjallajökull : )) They say it's not gonna be such a big fun as the eruption last year :( But at the same time - my friend was on a plane for 11 hours to America yesterday... so basically I am glad that no planes were affected.

You should get some, dear One  :ninja: Seems the weather god is in pretty bad mood in last days.  :spock:

And the summer is only beginning... Jorge, you should find out how to appease the local weather gods - or relocate somewhere less furnacy.

Kris, I've read the same - that this eruption is not likely to impact traffic as much as the Eia-thingy last year. Probably nobody would even notice another Icelandic volcano burping if it were not for last year's pause in aviation.

Cheers!

 :wOOt:!
When I was going home from my studies the sun was shining and it was warm enough. But then I stopped to make a call, and at this moment suddenly came a lot of grey clouds and the sun disappeared, and the wind started blowing with such speed that I fell on my knees! I stood up and ran to the underground. But after 15-17 minutes when I went out of it the sun appeared again and there was a very-very bright rainbow )))

So we need a good meteotherapist?

We had wonderful summer weather here recently, warm lots of sun, occasionally some rain or thunderstorm and all the time some refreshing wind. That weather made wonderful flowers bloom, iris and peonies and the first roses...

Right now it's getting colder, but I prefer that to a heat-wave. :)

Cheers!

Heat wave?

Sorry, we are just watching a series with my bf - called "Castle" and there is a long story about it... it is about writer Richard Castle who joins police detective Kate Beckett during solving cases and he uses her as inspiration for his book character - he bases the book character Nikki Heat on Kate Beckett. And he writes - in that tv serie - a book called Heat Wave. But seems fans were so curious about it that someone (dunno who - I guess that the scenarist of the series?) had to really write the book!!! So it was released like that "Heat Wave" by Rick Castle. And I just had to laugh over the "heat wave" You wrote.
But then again, who does.

A fictional book becoming real? Reminds me of the Al Azif - but that's a story of its own. :lol3:

OMCD, what a thunderstorm!

At first there was light rain for quite some time, but then it picked up dramatically. I used to think that rains falls down from the sky, but this rain was going from left to right. Luckily the storm didn't do much damage on my roofdeck as far as I can tell now in the dark. The rain was so dense that you couldn't see further than 50-100 meters, I estimate. At least the nearby town was hidden behind the curtain of water.

There was also some lightning, but you could see only the nearest bolts directly - the rest were only flashes. But there were nearby bolts, sometimes crashing their sharp thunder on us within fractions of a second. Really heavy, and I was glad I wasn't outdoors at that time.

It vanished as fast as it had come, and an hour later we were enjoying some late sunshine again.

Cheers!
