Today the weather is damn bad! We had an ice-rain (I don't know what it is, I overslept this view) and railway freezed. I'm out of the city! I must have had exams today! But! I could not go out of this place because of this ice on the railway! But what a luck I felt when found out that our teacher had had to stay out of the city, too!

Hey folks,

we've had thawing for several days now; today it was +10°C and warmer - plus rainy. There is heavy high water in some parts of Germany, including my home town.

Luckily my home is not affected, but I can only hope that the planetarium will get out of this undamaged.

Hey folks,

we had some pretty stormy days in the mean time, but nothing really serious here. The high water that followed the thawing was much worse. It did a lot of damage and even started to threaten my place slightly, but luckily I was spared. The planetarium was struck worse, but it will re-open next week.

Now we have a mild cold. I wonder if the winter will be back once more or if spring is about to come up.

Actually, I was wondering the same. On the 2nd February the bears came out from the cave, and since the sun wasn't shining, they didn't go back to sleep (this is a cute tradition, I don't know whether you have it too?) so spring-time should approach...

I keep my fingers crossed for that.

I haven't heard of it locally, but I know that such traditions exist in several places.

Well, we've had some decent winter this year and right now it's around 0°C instead of nicely frosty and snowy, so we might as well go for spring soon.

On my roofdeck the leek is starting to grow and the first shrubs have swelling buds that are turning green,

so they believe spring to be just around the corner, too.

The winter is back after a few days of pure springtime..

any of you experienced in winter thunderstorms...with lightnings and stuff? I know its a quite rare phenomena but this year we had 2... well...one while it was snowing and it was nothing spectacular, just managed to notice some lightnings and a bit of a thunder, but one was big , probably because it was in a week with highly unusual temperatures for this time of the year.

Can't wait for the spring..i love the weather then.

it's still nicely frosty here, but warmer air is just around the corner - and that's alright even with me at this time of year. If spring comes now, it's alright.

No, Gevurah, I don't remember any winter thunderstorms - but I can imagine that it must have been quite impressive.

here the frost is gone, but so is the sunshine. Yesterday we had a clear, cold day with a beautiful dusk and a clear early night. Today it's slightly above 0°C but all cloudy.

Hey folks,

for a couple of days we've been having incredible pre-spring-weather: Dry and sunny, with clear skies both day and night. Mild frost in the night, a few degrees above zero in the days. I love it... and it's close to turning the first shrubs green. Today I saw the first crocuses in bloom!

Hey folks,

this was a rainy day. After a sunny and warm weekend, which made all the leaves explode, I saw and heard my first thunderstorm of this year last night.

On my roofdeck the mayberry is blooming, the holly is growing new leaves, the apple tree is showing the first buds... without doubt, spring has come!

Well, past week was a normal winter week for us, and since last Friday spring arrived! Temperatures of almost 25º in the midday, people in the beach (I am always surprised how people rush to be beach the very first day of heat!)... and we sowed our sunflowers, again. What will be their hight this summer? More than 2 m? More than 2,5?
