School is supposed to start on Sunday (interesting eh? Well, work week here is from Sunday to Thursday) but I haven't even gotten the results of the admission test I did two days ago... So far, my 3rd year of high school is starting disastrously.

Ok, disaster's over.

At least the first stage.
I've been accepted, have my schedule (It's kind of confusing right now, but it'll all get cleared up soon, I hope) and uniform. All I need now are huge binders for my IB courses.

Whew, these are good news, Jorge! But I didn't expect anything else.

What's an IB course, by the way? And why do you need binders for that?

Myself, I feel half proud and half disappointed, half tired and half refreshed.

I'm proud because my show for the Laternenfest went well. I did it three times today (out of a total of five) was enjoying each time a lot - and so was my audience. Even the kids were enthusiastic about it, and that's always a good sign. But I'm disappointed because there were way too few visitors. The reason is that we didn't appear in the official festival programme, so people didn't even know that we were offering something. That was different in the past few years, and we had a huge number of visitors each time, and we'll have to be in the programme again next year - this disaster must not repeat.

I'm tired because my weekend was very stuffed. I had to get up very early and work on Saturday and went to the festival right after that. Staying up late, having a drink or two (or so... ahem.

), and today I had to be at the planetarium at 9.30 am for the shows. But I enjoyed the festival a lot, seeing folks I haven't seen in a while, talking and joking and drinking. I also discovered a guy who is carving drinking horns very skillfully and with motives from the Germanian mythology. I talked to him for a while and had at least a bind rune I had created carved into a little pendant. All of this was very pleasant and stimulant, and therefore mentally refreshing.

Markus, to answer your question...
IB courses are classes that offered at certified schools following the International Baccalaureate system, which is a fairly successful attempt at creating a global educational system. The Diploma Program I'm taking (encompassing the last two years of high school) is considered the among the most challenging, if not the single most challenging curriculum prior to University.
The reason to buying huge binders... Lots of papers to store.

Also, great to hear your show went well. If even the little kids stop fooling around for a moment and pay attention, it's indeed a good sign. Too bad attendance was low. But look at it from this perspective... Sucks to be whoever missed it!

Well, education is always a good thing - it's so much easier to dominate something you understand well, for instance, the world.

About the low attendance, I don't take it too hard. It was not my mistake, and I know exactly what happened. Most important: That person is so annoyed with her own mistake that I'm sure that this won't happen again. Thank you for your kind words, Jorge!

Except for the last part of ride back home. I had to explain the way to the bus driver, but the guy hardly spoke any English!

my school hasn't yet started, and honestly, I'm not too anxious about the beginning anyway...I'm doing just okay on holidays

ot: how do I feel? tired and anxious! Tired because I haven't had a good night's sleep in a while, and anxious because I've got like thousand things left to do before the school starts...now I know I've got another month to do it all...but having in mind all the stuff that I have planned, that is such a short time

@Markus: I was sure your audience would enjoy the show... you're so enthusiastic that you can only move them to your point!! About the short audience... well, think that the few people that went there are right now talking to the lot of people didn't assisted how good it was and how important is they're going next year!!!

@One: Congrats for the good beginning at your new shcool! Is English the language of the classes? I'm sure it's a great goal having entered there, and you'll success at it. Please, keep sharing your experience... I've no too many people living there to tell me about it!

Kuwait does allow polygamy, a man can have up to 4 wives. But it's a very strict thing, open only to Muslims.
And every wife is to be treated equally. So, for example, you give one a large gold pendant, the others have to get one too.
