that's not exactly true... Mats is a member of Krux, everything they will record will have him on vocals... the band has been formed by Leif around himself and Mats... Leif is very appreciative of his vocals, their collaboration having started with Abstrakt Algebra back in 95... there's going to be a new Krux album recorded most likely next year... oh yeah and Mats does all the Candlemass demoing too (not just vocals)... King of the Grey Islands was recorded entirely with his vocals before they found their new singer, so that they could show a demo to the record company... I'd do mostly anything to get my hands on that recording
i've listened to all the albums he was lead on, my favourites (beside Therion obviously) being: Krux, Abstrakt Algebra and Fatal Force. there's going to be a new FF album probably next year btw. I'm extremely excited about that. I've also liked quite a lot Sabbtail, Southpaw and Amaseffer. At Vance I used to rave about after I first discovered Mats back in 2005, it was I think his first project beside Therion that I listened to... but I got pretty tired of them after a while... the music is a bit too generic... The Evil In You is quite some classes above Chained though... there are some songs though on those 2 albums that quite stand out and are very good like The Curtain Will Fall, The Evil In You and Chained
@Agnes: you copied the discography from my Wikipedia article on Mats haha
oh and here is something really unique that Mats has done with a british band:
http://www.myspace.com/londonfarbelow --- listen to the song She Walks in Beauty (duet between Mats and Henrik Loman)... the lyrics are of course Lord Byron's poem... i was completely shocked when I listened to this since it's my favourite poem by my favourite poet
and hearing Mats singing it is more than could have ever crossed my mind
also here:
http://www.myspace.com/jupitersociety --- you can listen to Carl Westholm from Krux's project Jupiter Society... Mats sings on Cold, Rigid & Remote and Solitude Unites Us (where he also drums
)
