Hey folks,
Agnes told us from a Polish site that there will be a special Therion concert in Krakow this December. Our spies in the goddess-damned ES had already known about this concert before and had known that it was only one in a whole series of concerts celebrating the 20th anniversary of the band. (But of course they had to pretend not to know anything as long as it wasn't official yet. :wink2:) Someone at the site of the organiser of Krakow must have leaked, and I bet Chris is not pleased with that. But whatever, it's out now. :)
And what they published sounds pretty exciting. A complete live performance of "Theli" plus "Wisdom and the Cage" and "Adulruna Rediviva" plus a fan-chosen (?) best-of-set from Vovin and L/SB. :wOOt: I also know that one of the concerts will be in Germany, not too far from my home town, so :yeha: :yeha: :yeha:

you didn't tell a secret! You were only quoting a public website, so you did not do anything wrong. Someone else told the secret, he is to blame - not you! So don't you worry or be sad, but rather look forward to a great show towards the end of this year. :)

Äh, anniversary tour - I hope some of the concerts will be near Czech Republic... :( I was born in '87 - I totally have to go! ;D
Have never visited their concert. This February they were in Prague, but I couldn't go - and after? I was absolute sorry. On every metal website or in magazines were written, that was really great show... I can't make the same mistake again! :innocent:

We (me and my Therion-travel group) saw Therion twice here In Bergara; gone to Bucharest for the first "Therion goes classic". We´re going to see them to Dublin on september 14th...but we must see the 20th anniversary tour!!!!!!!!
The nearest show for us (three hours by car) is in Toulouse on december the 20th, but is a thursday...
So, we have three options;
1- Go the first weekend to Germany (we have two more holiday days in this case) and see Memmingen´s gig.
2- Take a Bilbao-Brussels plane, and go to Antwerpen (it´s so close from Brussels) on december 15th
3- Train from Hendaye to Paris on december 21st
I need some help for the first option: we´ll take a plane to München, but, is any bus or train from München to Memmingen? Timetables and rates?

I'm not that persuasive kind. :) I prefer to let the people decide: you already know me and my home (well, apart from some recent changes, but I'll tell you the secrets if you decide to come. No persuasion intended of course. :innocent:). There will be MissSwan, her boyfriend, and my friend Vikke (who joined us in Miskolc), maybe my sister and her friend who were present at the lecture.
Every other NTSMS member is warmly welcome too. :)

when do you arrive in Munich? There are several trains from Munich Mainstation to Memmingen, I didn´t get any price info yet but schedules. The direct connections take around 1 or 1,5 hours.

The travel back to Munich should be on sunday, 9th december in the morning.

Well, I think I'll buy the tickets to London soon, as now they're almost free (0.01 € + taxes, at the moment). So, if it happens I can go, I will already have it!! The bad thing is, more than anything, the hotel (I'll check it soon too, of course!) and the meals... I still think I won't be able to go, but I wish to go, but I won't be able to go, but I have to go... :blink:
If anybody has checked for hotels near the venue, please, can you share your infinite wisdom? :idea:
Another thing that worries me: I've read that the part of the city where Therion plays is... not very safe. If I go, I probably will go with Xiquet, but with him or without... I'd rather having more company in those dark and dangerous narrow streets :ninja: (perhaps I'm overreacting? Perphaps I am :insane: ). So, if Markus or any other member finally knows s/he will come, it would be nice to have a meeting and go all together :biggrin:
A last thing to say: I've heard that an important member of ES is going to go to this concert... nothing sure, but I've heard rumours... of very first hand :whistle:

This is my first trip to Budapest... It costs for about 730 CZK (cca 27 Euro) by bus for people with ISIC card. And it takes about 6,5 hour.

Well, in 2004, when they weren't playing in Croatia, that concert in Ljubljana was amazing! :) Now you probably won't have that big crowd. I think that in February this year there was like 600 people in Ljubljana.

I know..and when I*m talking to anyone they all just say that the GK album is a big disappointment and they have no wish to go..and I don*t know..at first I said the same..wtf,what happened to Therion I knew?..but I*m loyal..and still love them..and I like the GK..but on the other hand I had to buy ticket a month and a half earlier..and I got one of the last 20..so maybe Mediapark will be full again.. :)

As far as I'm concerned, I could be the only person on the Therion show and I would have a better time than having 600+ people around. It's not about amount of people that are attending, it's about how you make it yourself. Yeah, it wouldn't be the same experience but you don't need them to have fun. You have Therion, aye.

In Zagreb, concerts are starting later than it is arranged or said to be starting. For example, the Korpiklaani concert was said to start at 20:00, but instead it started an hour later without any kind of explanation. It won't surprise me that tomorrow's Therion show also starts an hour later. Boogaloo's sorrounding (ozvucenje, jel) sucks and everybody keeps complaining about it but nobody seems to do anything about it 'cause of "if it's good for bands, and are not complaining about crappy equipment, it's good for us" attitude. So, it seems that everything has it's good and bad sides. I also keep asking myself why does any bend chose to play here but it seems that they just want to make their fans satisfied and I go well with that and am not complaining about anything in the end.

That's nice, but it's easier for the band if they've sold the place out than it is if the only people there are you, your friend and some guy who came in by mistake thinking it was happy hour there. That's what I'm worried about - if Boogaloo isn't cramped with black-clad, pale adolescents who drink red wine and sigh at the decadence of modern society, Chris and the gang might not be as thrilled to give us a mind-blowing performance.
Oh, I'm sure they'd give their best, but I'd like the concert to be as great for them as it is for us. I want the lurve to flow back and forth, rather than just forth.

Therion has in plan to take the whole next year off, record a new album in 2009. and start touring again in 2010.
At least, that's what Johan told me.

I miss the band, I miss the tour... Holding a quiet lament for the tour...
I know it will take some time to the next tour - but I hope it will be as great as it was this year.
There are next wonderful concert experiences waiting for us. And because the time will be quite long our hunger for Therion will grow high up and then when another album is out and the tour on - our pleasure will be much bigger (:

I just realized that the anniversary tour ended today... now I'm felling sad. :'(
It somehow feels strange to me thinking of Therion to draw back to their homeland and slumber for some time. Like they're dead. I mean... this year they toured the whole Europe, TWICE!! It was nice knowing they're always somewhere here, performing live, but now... I'm scared somehow. :afaid:

Paris :wub:... Mats :wub:... he wore the Han Solo t-shirt (for the last time) and performed Kali Yuga part 2, Adulruna Rediviva and Blood of Kingu (as bonus yay). Seeing him on stage with Therion again reminded me of how well they fit together and how much I miss him with the band :bye: But I'll look on the bright side that I could at least see this performance where he was as fantastic as always :wOOt: and of course the very nice chats I had with him during and after the show... ah Mats... :wub:

Weeeell, today thanks to some interesting coincedences I find where do the KUTULU lyrics by The Vision Bleak come from. This is the whole spell:

I do not believe that he wrote it first. Imho first ones were by Gregorius'.
Because Lovercraft's Necronomicon is "just" fiction - he is even trying to "lie" us about the author - he says that it originally comes from some crazy guy called Abdul Al Zahred (living in Damascus) whilst Gregorius' version (well they say that Simon's is not so authentic) comes from Mesopotamian mythology.
But You know, as always with this kind of documents - no one knows the truth - it is connected with the letter in which was the "original" written and after which was created both versions - Gregoriuses and Lovercraft's also.
Actually, Lovercraft's version is most popular...
Simon's version contains also introduction (I think it is the newest version but they say it is not so authentic) and compares Lovercraft's version and Gregorius' version.
