Title: True non-Therion-lyrics
Post by: Markus on December 18, 2006, 09:48:39 am
Hi there,

secret wisdom cannot be found in Therion lyrics alone, but to a lesser extent in songs from other bands as well.  "Maha Kali" by Dissection is a fine example of that.

Cheers!

Metal Mommy

Metal Mommy, dark mother, bake for me,
Let the sweet taste of your cookies awaken me!
Yours are recipes of pastries which shall bring me bliss,
Yours is the sweet scent that shall set my spirit free.

You user of flour and eggs who bake all the time,
Within seconds I'll devour that kitchen-work of thine.
Metal Mommy, promised one, oh mistress of sweet fusion,
Your work forever praised, your cookies in profusion.

Haha, great one Markus!
And the original "Maha Kali" is one great song, too!
Here's mine, also from Dissection:

Gods of Forbidden likes

Hail the bartender! Dark bringer of delight
Hail the bartender! Giver of the drunken sight
Alcohol bringer, we call upon thy name
Bestow upon us thy drinking blessings
Of thy inner alcohol flame

Open our mouths mighty father
So that we may drink
Guide our steps on the drunken path
Of liberation and cheap whiskey

Titanic Bar of Atheist,
The place of forbidden likes
Our drunk flame we bear inside
As a legacy of your might
Hangover’s father,
God of drunkness and fight
Dark beer of mind’s mysteries
Destroy the drunkie’s sight

Mighty of God of drunkness
Our salutations to thee
Your gifts of Curacao Revelion
Will set our spirits free

Living Tavern bots! Lazy, our bartenders!
Living Tavern bots! Lazy, our bartenders!

Open our mouths mighty father
So that we may drink
Guide our steps on the drunken path
Of liberation and cheap whiskey

Mighty of drunkness
Our salutations to thee
Raise the alcohol within us
Into chaos spill our beer

     awww....   how sweet!

This is not to the tune of any song.  Just a rhyme.
Ahem...

Today I baked some pudding of rice
It was tasty and fluffy and came out quite nice.
The kitchen smelled so good as the scent wafted about
Metal Mommy is the best baker and cook...   no doubt.

Hi folks,

recently I've stumbled across another piece of true lyrics. Did you know that the music for Haggard's wonderful "Observer" had originally been written for a rather different song? However, that other song never came to be - probably it was a bit too politically incorrect, so in the end the music was used on the concept-album on Galileo Galilei (whose birthday is today, btw).

However I've managed to discover at least a part of the original lyrics, while the remaining parts seem lost in a haze...

Cheers!

The Consumer

I don't feel obliged to believe that the same god who has endowed us with hemp, poppies and Salvia d. has intended us to forego their use.

So all the plants
Will guide us on our way
Their psychoactive powers
Have duration for the day.
The amazing sights!
His dangerous green discoveries,
With a curious and brave mind
He's consuming
Treasures of ethnobotany.
In endless nights
He experienced a herbal high
His inhalations would change his world
Just like Hofmann, just like Rätsch!

PAIN - Have A Drink On Me

I don't believe in love
I love the way it tastes
Please don't expect too much
'cause I don't wanna be involved

I had my share of women
Even some marriage too
And every time I end up with my pants down
Lookin' like a fool

I'm such a fool...

The older you are, the wiser you get
Just listen to me
When life gets tough and you know it will
Then have a drink on me

The alcohol never talks back to me
It never tells me when it's time to go home
It's been my friend for over 25 years
And she has never cut me low

Don't cut me low

The older you are, the wiser you get
Just listen to me
When life gets though and you know it will
Then have a drink on me

Too many women, too little time
(Yeah!)
And not enough whiskey
Not enough booze for me

I rather lose my liver than to lose my pride
And when I'm dead and buried
Then just have a drink on me

I don't believe in love
So don't expect too much

The older you are, the wiser you get
Just listen to me
When life gets though and you know it will
Then have a drink on me
The older you are, the wiser you get
Just listen to me
When life gets though and you know it will
Then have a drink on me
Just have a drink

Usually I don't like such lyrics, but I've found this one quite fun. :D

Hi folks,

admittedly, Angie 2009 (http://ntsms.megatherion.com/index.php?topic=239.msg41165#msg41165) actually belongs here. But it was inspired by Saphira's entry (as well as current German politics), so it ended up in "Now Playing". :)

Cheers!

Angi 2009

Angi, Angi,
Thank god that cloud would disappear.
Angi, Angi,
Thank god the right spot would be clear.
We have come from Germany
Black sun in the skies to see,
A hole would pop up in the clouds.
So Angi, Angi,
We've seen what it was all about.
We have come from very far
To see the darkening of a star
A hole would pop up in the clouds.
So Angi, Angi,
At C II the crowd went loud.

With sincere apologies to any Argentinians, but after Webber, Müller, Klose and Friedrich this one became irresistable...

We've sent you home, Argentina

We've sent you home, Argentina
You will not become world-champion
For we did beat you,
We did defeat you,
Yes, we did bleed you,

White Christmas 2011

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Alas! This year I've dreamt in vain
For the wind is howling
The sun is prowling
Behind clouds that bring us rain
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With winter landscapes so sublime
And I think of dear friends of mine:
Have a peaceful, merry Christmas time!

Sunken R'lyeh

When the end is dawning
Great Old Ones awake, still yawning
How I long to be there
With Cthulhu who's waiting for me there
From the ocean rising
(Euclid would go mad!)
Mankind is demising
I don't find that bad...

Is this the way to sunken R'lyeh?
Every night in my dreams I say:
"Show me the way to sunken R'lyeh
And Cthulhu who waits for me!"

Ia Ia Ia I-A!
Ia Ia Ia I-A!
Ia Ia Ia I-aaaaa!
And Cthulhu who waits for me

This one has a second verse now...

SUNKEN R'LYEH
=============

When the end is dawning
Great Old Ones awake, still yawning
How I long to be there
With Cthulhu who's waiting for me there
From the ocean rising
(Euclid would go mad!)
Mankind is demising
I don't find that bad...

Is this the way to sunken R'lyeh?
Every night in my dreams I say:
"Show me the way to sunken R'lyeh
And Cthulhu who waits for me!"

Ia Ia Ia I-A!
Ia Ia Ia I-A!
Ia Ia Ia I-aaaaa!
And Cthulhu who waits for me

Humans will be crying
In despair as they are dying
For the world we live in
To the Great Old Ones is given
From the stars descending
They will bring us pain
Our world is ending
Fighting back's in vain

This is the way to sunken R'lyeh!
Nightmare's coming true and I say:
"This is the way to sunken R'lyeh!
Dead Cthulhu, he waits for me!"

Ia Ia Ia I-A!
Wgah'nagl fhtagn, I-A!
Ia Ia Ia I-aaaaa!
Dead Cthulhu, he waits for me

Cthulhu Sleeps Tonight

In the ocean, the mighty ocean,
Cthulhu sleeps tonight
In the ocean, the "peaceful" ocean,
Cthulhu sleeps tonight

In the city, the sunken city,
Cthulhu sleeps tonight
In the city, the dark green city,
Cthulhu sleeps tonight

Hush, my darling, and dream, my darling,
Cthulhu sleeps tonight
Dream, my darling, then scream, my darling
Cthulhu sleeps tonight

Let Her Pee

When Abby stays at my place
She wants regular short walks with me
So I'll take her out and
Let her pee

We can't be playing all the time
She has a need that I must see
Better take her out and
Let her pee

Let her pee
Let her pee
Let her pee
Let her pee
She must take a leak now
Let her pee

And when the sun is shining
Or the moon is very clear to see
She's been drinking plenty
Let her pee

And when the sky is cloudy
Or the rain is drizzling down on me
Doesn't really matter
Let her pee

Let her pee
Let her pee
Let her pee
Let her pee
She must take a leak now
Let her pee

White Easter

I'm dreaming of a white Easter
Unlike the ones I used to know
Let the tree-tops glisten
And children listen
To hear hare-paws in the snow
I'm dreaming of a white Easter
With every coloured egg I hide
May your days be icy, yet bright
And may all your Easter days be white!

Under Some Cottage Stars

The golden autumn is creeping near
Dark skies above us
Perseids fly through the air
Ripe corn surrounds us
A nightly cold late-summer-breeze
Touched the skin of mine
Dad counts shooting stars he sees
We have some Spanish wine

What a nice scene! :wOOt: Do you have planted corn too? Or is it your cottage neighbour's?

I have seen three shooting stars standing in front of our house, and one from my bed. :D
Title: Re: True non-Therion-lyrics
Post by: Markus on August 15, 2013, 10:40:47 am
Thank you, Lucy!

We don't have any corn ourselves. Imagine our cottage as 1600 m^2 big, most of it being meadows and lots of trees, some of them rather old and big. Two more similar places following beyond our Eastern border, and all of that is surrounded by fields. This year they've been growing corn there, more specifically wheat.

The weather wasn't really favourable but we each saw a couple of meteors at least. I'm glad that you managed the same. :)

Cheers!
