Title: Writing fantasy short story / book
Post by: VladH on December 03, 2006, 08:54:24 pm
OK.... I just imagined it... all that we know... in roles of fantasy creatures.... dangers... heaps of gold... seas of mead... piles of skulls.....

So maybe lets start with wandering who will be who  ^_^

I can be wandering bard warrior with flamberg :)

Elf with beautifully artcrafted sword  :ninja: Hehe.

I have a little proposal: maybe we could let the others pick some of our own character's features. Otherwise, anyone could pick an infinite number of features, and the story wouldn't be fun anymore. Do you agree?

I'm the wizard with the staff and the sword.

But Eli, is right...
For you, Eli I choose these features: beautiful, nice, fun to be with, elf, swordmistress, trustworthy, um... The only female elf that likes beer?

Hi there,

the seas of mead are there to make sure that I'm interested, eh? But if One is a wizard, then what can I be? We won't need both a wizard and a priest, will we? Then I want to be a demon, I guess.  :evil2:

Cheers!

Ok, just a crazy idea: to create a full new sub-forum about this, and to do 2 things:

1. Describe the characters. Each member chooses a character and describes it. Further information can be added by other members if he/she agrees.

2. After having all characters described, story will start, like a role game: a character describes a part of the story/action lead by him/her, then another user/character describes another part in which he/she takes part too...

What do you think?  :insane:

Let's do everybody 2 rules.

Rule 1.- Nobody wins
Rule 2.- Neutral character like me don't die.

Post by: Markus on December 03, 2006, 11:24:52 pm
Rule 2.1. Evil, or possibly evil characters like me don't die, either, or they have a very vivid afterlife.

Title: Re: Writing fantasy short story / book

Weeeeell...5 characters by now. Not a lot, but perhaps, characters enough to start with. New characters can be added. Let's the fun begin!!!!!

PS. A negative point for this kind of stories is that if any of the players is gone for some time (one weekend, one week...), things can happen withouth his/her participation. I suppose we can try to avoid punishing other characters when absent, can't we?  :ninja:

I still have to write my character, but I don't have enough inspiration... I've been asking people about certain features I might forget or not observe, but they keep telling me the same thing: beauty, intelligence, good archer and excellent blade user... it's almost boring *sigh* Enough to start with, I suppose. You guys could think of some more, pleease!

Well, a secret is ever interessant for a character. Perhaps a dark secret, perhaps not... who knows? Some event some hundreds or thousands of years ago which still affects you, or some promise you did to someone (but... who? and... dark or light one?).

A secret should be easily attachable to my character, as I already wrote she's quite different from other Elven ladies

It seems that the story has just re-born thanks to the great hability for long and full-of-epic-literature wisdom of IronCretin. Checking the previous posts, it seems that it was me who killed the story, not replying when I had to

Perhaps people can post here again, create a character if has not, and make this come back to life!  :wOOt:

Oops, sorry, I didn't realise that I was supposed to be Role-playing a character. . . just thought it was a 'Add a section of the story' thing. . . with ppl associated with certain characters. . . I read every thread BUT this one, FOOLISH CRETIN!  :evil2: *whips Cretin* Ummm. . . sorry. . .  :bawl: :bawl: :bawl:

Don't worry Cretin. I, the creator of the thread, was who killed it so... who has to be more ashamed?

Hurry, create a character and write!!!  :wOOt:

lol, will do. . . couple questions:

Are other character's actions ONLY under their control?

Should we take turns? (ie, can I follow a post of my own?  Or must I wait for someone else to make an addition?)

Ummm. . . I guess that's it. . .

Well, the rules are not all written and fixed, but more or less are the following:

-You can control your character. The other's characters are not completly in your control but, of course, if you interact with another person, you have to write his/her reaction and, perhaps, make him/her do things. I don't know if I expressed myself too well...  :innocent:

-There's not a predeterminate order, although a general rule is to wait until writting again after your post. If no one replies it, perhaps you can add some action to cheer people up to add more things.

Wish I was clear enough  :insane:
