Hi folks,
have you noticed that the new Official Homepage has gone online? How do you like it?

Just notized now, thanks to Markus' post. Well... I see good and bad things.
GOOD THINGS:
-I like the art of the site, the crowd on the top of the page.
-It's a good idea to use Therion letters for the titles.
-Forum looks waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more therionish and metalish now (it's not perfect, but a lot better).
BAD THINGS:
-The Forum option has dissappeared from the main page, and now I have to work a little more to achieve it (yes, I'm lazy, but I perfectly knew where the mouse had to go even before the page was completely load, and now I'll have to work a little more).
-The title letters are cool but... a bit hard to read, don't you think?
-The left part, where links are, looks extremely small to me. I use a high screen resolution, so maybe that's a part of the problem, but... previous design looked perfect to me!
What do you think? :unsure:

Visually speaking, it's more artistic and atractive: leaves a good 1st impression. But if you actually have to use the site, things get a bit more complicated.
After loading the page, I used to go to the right, click for NTSMS and then to the forum. Now, I have to go the opposite way, and the letters are extreeemly small. I admit I don't always wear my glasses, but still, Luth said the same.
All in all, it's a nice change :innocent:

Yes, the letters are small for me too. And I'm still waiting for somebody who could fix the very good links Markus made in the off. forum, in the topic Translations, Explanations & General questions.

Wtf is going on with the site? First the forum got flooded with spam all the time, and for days now both the forum and the site are offline. I don't know who handles it, but he's not doing a great job... :beerhead:

I'm very interested in this as well. I havent been around for a month or so and as far as I recall things were fine back then. How long is the site broken?
I even tried accessing it to fix the issues myself but it refuses to let anyone in without a root password. Which of course Ole never gave me.
Please, some info?

First time I couldn't load the page, it was Friday, early morning. :( I've read something about a Trojan before, and there were spam attacks since some weeks indeed. This is all I know. :unsure:

Did Ole respond to these in any way? How long did it take him? Does anyone know?

I haven't heard anything about Ole since pretty long time. There was Jacob, I guess, deleting continuously the spam topics, and how they have solved the Trojan issue... I don't know. :( But I remember reading that it was over.

it doesn't open for me. neither the official homepage nor the forum...when I try forum it says connection problems, and when I try homepage it says too many connections and it's all very chaotic and the art is still the old one but everything is sooo messed up...
and I'm using mozilla firefox...does any of you have the same problem or you can all access the page without any problems?

oh I see now...I thought those posts were from earlier time and now I see they're all from today...my mistake...

No idea, noone told me anything. A few days ago I stumbled across the site and saw it's broken, and can't do anything without access to the server. I'm afraid Ole or someone else will have to fix the issue...

Ole cannot handle the problem as he's in Singapore - so no time for fixing the site, but apparently he wrote an email advising Chris to give the password to Jacob.

for me..it depends which computer I use.. with the ones I have at home I can not open the page.. so I guess I'll have to fix some settings or smth..computer at my Uni opens it normally..
oh btw.. it's a nice homepage :) as far as I managed to check it out :)

I guess a professional band could afford a professional page with professional hosting, webmaster, etc. It is getting very annoying, seems that Therion can't really do anything on time nowadays (the Miskolc dvd is already out since August, did you know?)...

That is impossible.
on October the DVD was not done and is late because production girl got cancer.
The one that is out is Live Gothic witch is not Miskolc, and no other DVD is on Nuclear Blast site.

Well, I fixed the site to at least appear, but generally, I'm quite dissapointed that Chris hasn't at least asked me or someone else...

Thank you :) At last ntsms works again.. official page is still the same to me as it was for Virus..just some lines a bit of colour. can't even read what it's written.. how come they don't want anyone to fix this? :blink:

If I had to guess I'd say it's not they don't want to fix it, it's that they don't know how. The server seems completely fried and inaccessible, and without ordering system restore, new operating system etc from the ISP, IMHO it seems unfixable.
These things cost but in the low hundreds of $ so it's not like it can't be done, all that's needed is bit of desire. Then again Chris may be on some tour or some other trip and these things can't be done without him (he's paying the server bills), in which case everyone waits until he gets back. I honestly don't know.

Well, after the megatherion domain went down as a result of the server being hosed, I took the domain over and made a half-assed attempt to make a page that is both readible and functional... at least until someone fixes the issues with the server...
Oh yes, that's why ntsms was down too. All connected.

I don't understand a thing of internet webpages, but the "technical issues" on the Official Therion website seem pretty bad. Let's hope they will corrected them soon.

What I can't understand it why can't they pay professionals to handle their website. With some decent backup and some teporary hosting I guess it would work just as fine while the original servers are down.

What do you mean nothing works? Only thing broken, as far as I can see, is the forum over there. All other data like discography, TS, tour dates, all working.

Glad to see the site is back to normal. ^_^ The forum will make it soon too, lets just wait.
The other day I was translating some material from official page and I noticed that the biography we can see there is a little bit...unupdated. :-X

Nothing to do with me, I guess Ole and Franz fixed the site, with the exception of the forum which should also be trivial to fix... just a matter of few file permissions.
