Title: Soundtrack for the Final Solstice
Post by: Markus on December 19, 2012, 01:36:04 pm
Hey folks,

the end of the world is less than 100 hours away... high time to collect some songs for that once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity! So here we go, in no particular order:

As inevitable as the day itself, but a surprise nonetheless (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CE0Q904gtMI)

A real classic, well known to you (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqaARDsiJv4)

...stars are now right... (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ftld7Ohojg)

Oh tidings of madness and woe! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbzuzSbCyfQ)

Let's face it! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptP0OR-e7rI)

I'm glad about any additions you might make!

Cheers!

Markus

Taking it less serious (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFk_fLyKp1A)

Thank you, High Priest! :) I would like to check yours too better, but our net isn't that wide. I can play videos very badly, however I could see the titles.

Do you guys know Israel Kamakawiwoʻole (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_Kamakawiwo%CA%BBole)?

I am sorry I haven't managed to listen to the songs yet cause I am not so much at home as I want. If we survive tomorrow, I will play it during the Christmas! ;)

But now I am fully given to this:

It is from movie called Melancholia and it is abou the end of the world (in a very strange way, trust me), I love the movie (and Kirsten Dunst). The music for the movie is taken from Wagner's Tristan and Isolde... this is the Prelude. It's amazingly relaxing.

Hey folks,

I hope this one is still on time - but when talking of destruction and annihilation this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUjgu8Q4jKY) must not be omitted. An especially raw and forceful version. :ninja:

Kris, that's a great choice, too! Good old Richie from Leipzig... Oh by the way, about the scenario of "Melancholia": It's really good luck that no one was around the last time that happened. If it should be repeated, we'd be toast - no way to prevent that or to save anybody. :afaid:

Cheers!

Taking it seriously (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCk4RiKH9H0)

Taking it far too seriously (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTsD2FjmLsw)

The only thing this apocalypse has been good for is making puns out of this amazing album (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSiaJjqaFZE)
