Title: The next beast has a name!
Post by: Aluqak on February 11, 2010, 05:26:16 pm
Sitra Ahra will be called, and I'm already looking forward to it:

Yup.

And the name points to interesting lyrics again. Also makes me wonder whether some musical elements of the older will reappear. Of course Chris won't ever make the same album twice, but who knows whether the music might become more metallish again.

Besides all that I hope that Kali Yuga pt. III will be on this one.

Only one thing is really sure: It will be Therion!

Cheers!

Markus

Kali Yuga part 3 will be on Sitra Ahra :)
:yeha:

... on a more cynical point of view, I just hope that this will not become something similar to the "Unforgiven series" that Metallica has used to torture us during the last years.
Nah..., just kidding, I trust Chris about this one (and many others).

We were discussing with Saph about the name (cause of my post in the shoutbox), because it made me laugh so deeply :) - the fact we are learning this during the Kabbalah lessons :D

I was searching for some better explanation of the Sitra Ahra - cause I know what it means but actually for me is always hard to explain what I think and what I know (I have to work on this if I want to be a teacher  :ninja: ¬¬ ) so I later during the searching on the web found this, it's quite accurate:

The notion appears in the Zohar of the Sitra Ahra, or Another Side.  It is a shadow of the Sefirotic world having the same structure, the world Kelippoth and demonic powers. It has roots or in the destructed worlds of the past (preceding to this world) which are called "the Kings of Edom", or in the separation from the Divine substance the powers of the Stern Judgement. In any case, after the completion of the tiqqun process these Sitra Ahra are destroyed or transfigurated into Light according to their substantial nature.

According to some early Sefardic Kabbalists the idea of remnants of the previous worlds is connected with the concept of shemittoth, or cosmic cycles.  Some other Kabbalists say that before the creation of this world of the equilibrium of Din (Stern Judgement) and Mercy the God created some previous unsteady worlds with the abundance of the Din power. They disappeared because of domination of the Din. But Din is the source of the roots of evil as well. Thus the remnants of these worlds became kelippoth which corrupted the present universe. But Lurianic Kabbalah denies the idea of many cosmic cycles (and the Zohar does likewise)

Thank you, Miri! May I ask where you found this?

Oh, and how is the term pronounced properly? I tend to emphasise the first syllables ("SItra AHra"), but I suppose that correctly the last syllables have to emphasised ("SiTRA AhRA"). Which one is right?

Cheers!

Hi Markus!

I found it right here: http://www.kheper.net/topics/Kabbalah/kelippot.htm (http://www.kheper.net/topics/Kabbalah/kelippot.htm)

I don't really know how is the right pronunciation cause my ivrit is not still good enough to "feel" the pronunciation by intuition - yes it's different then ours (I mean than Czech, German - where the stronger is first syllabic)... in Hebrew and in Ivrit it differs usually in connection with this mark " - " between words like "ec ha-chajim" or "ilan ha-ec" but also some letters can change sometimes and it's too complicated yet  for me. :D

But I guess one can use both nowadays. For our language we pronounce the Sitra Ahra as it is written more like "Sitra Achra" (like in in the end of the word "einfach" for example) and I think it was pronounced like this in Hebrew also cause usually the "h" is being pronunciated like "ch"- You can here it in Ivrit very strongly :) They are like Dutch :D they also use to use "ch" very often.

Thank you, Miri!

I think everyone is aware that the Sitra Ahra has been the main topic of earlier Therion albums, some of them containing explicit qliphotic invocations. That's why I was wondering whether we'll hear some musical elements of the older albums again, of course brought to a new level as each Therion album has its own, new style.

Cheers!

I was hoping for something similar, but with Therion you never know. Anyway, if somehow they decide to take the direction that Markus imply, I'd be more than glad :)

Oh! btw, the other day I was re-listening to some Necrophobic stuff, and they have a song called Sitra Ahra in the Hrimthursum album. They also tend to visit the similar themes than Therion, and I wonder why.... :ninja:

(they thank a certain Chris and a certain Thomas K from DR in the acknowledgements of that album)

Hey folks,

I have indeed heard rumours about certain NTSMS-members being double agents to undermine the Elitist Syndicate... :ninja:

Well, I've the key for TS gardens, although I don't use it too often lately. I can join the other key-keepers when I've a little time to spare

Hey folks,

even if the new album will take another while to be published I will do the brave thingy again - I will not listen to any leaked promos but wait for the real thing and celebrate my first listening. Anyone joining in? OFFy? :ninja:

Cheers!

Well, you could hear Kali Yuga part 3 on last tour, I don't think it changed much.

This will be almost impossible if it leaks during summer but I want to download just one song if it leaks and that song is Kali Yuga part 3 cause I don't want to listen live version anymore. And I still hope Chris will give us a song soon.  ¬¬ So yes, I am in with this 1-2 exceptions.

Hey OFFy,

I think that still counts as brave: We've heard Kali Yuga pt. III live, so it's not really an unknown song to us anymore. And songs that Chris gives to us are alright, of course. (Let's just hope he doesn't choose KYIII :afaid:)

Cheers!
