I was drawing yesterday, I had a slightly "northern mood". And actually I managed to fix the scanner a bit :) So I wanted to share with You this little drawing.
Bluegreen.

-
You know that I won't tell You "I like it" unless I really do. :D
-
Beautiful indeed, Mirjam! Thank you. :)
Being the old phytophile that I am, I'm especially fond of what looks to me like an emerald flame on the left. :wOOt:
Cheers!

That's is representing there the Nordlys (Aurora Borealis) in the pic
-
Mmmhhh... Northern Lights! Lovely... seen them two times with my own eyes, once even from my hometown. :) Still it looks like a wonderful emerald flame to me, and - with the brownish-black background - raises associations of plants in me. Art is multilayered. :)
Thanks again and cheers!
Markus
-
Very nice indeed! I like it a lot! Keep on working dear! :)
-
Nice job Kris!
Hm... I haven't drawn in quite a bit.... :lol3:

Hello Young One!

Yep, I still remember. :) The thing is... I haven't drawn anything that I think worthy of sending.
@Everyone: Thanks guys. I appreciate your support.
-
@One: Nice work! I've seen also those on Deviant art .. but already some time ago..

@Jorge: yep, I've seen those pics already before as well - so you already know my opinion on them :D
-
Drawing again after more than a 7-year pause ... no, it's not like riding a bike :nosweat: :insane: ... sorry for bad quality - I took a picture of it, don't have a scanner
(http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/9145/p1010113.jpg) (http://img90.imageshack.us/i/p1010113.jpg/)
-
Definitely wow!
-
awww   thank you ... it's a piece of the whole picture ... didn't want to put all of it because it has nude parts and I'm not sure if that's allowed here :nosweat:
-
Thank you, Serpi!
Especially the eyes are impressive to me. Very expressive!
Cheers!
Markus
-
Very nice Serpy! Thanks for shering! :)

Ode To the Highest IQ In the World
The highest IQ we could ever see
Lets its stream fall down on me
It smites for it's strong
And punishes the wrong
Discovers the lies where we all belong
Oh, Master of wisdom, my lord of IQ
You know how I wish I could be just like you
My master, oh, let me become your rich wife!
I'll pay off your debt, I swear by my knife!
I'll give your some money, if you only wish,
By the name of IQ I'll become your goldfish.
Oh, Master of madness, my lord of sexism
You know how I wish to shear your racism
The highest IQ in the world takes its toll
It crept into me, my body and soul
In Ancient Egipt it smites communism
By the name of half Jew in the pride of racism
-
I know what this one is about. :ninja:
Good one, Siren!
Cheers!
Markus
-
Ah! Thank you very much! :)
-
:D Is it about that b bitchy man? :D
COOOL :) I had a good laugh Siren!
-
Fantastic! :lol3: Congrats!
-
THank your very much!
Yes, Miri, I guess we mean the same man.
He really asked me to find a rich, smart, clever, beautiful, slim, well-educated, hand-working, etc. bride, who could pay off his debt, for him. And, surely, her IQ must be very high.
-
OMFG! :o  :ninja:
(Errrrmmmm... why didn't you take your chance?)
-
I'm afraid my madness hasn't grown so much yet
-
Don' you worry, dear! A couple of days after the marriage you will go mad enough. :fish:
Cheers!
Markus
-
A-ha-ha! You seem to be right , but I feel sick in mental hospitals where I'll obviously go, if marry him
Why don't you marry him? If your IQ is high enough, he'll surely forgive you being male :lol3:
-
Siren:
I should marry him, that would be a well deserved painful kind of death for him.
-
I should marry him, that would be a well deserved painful kind of death for him.

No mercy for the stupid! I see you finaly begin to understand his life philosophy :wink2:

One of today's works at the drawing group:
-
That's nice :) I like the colours and that the shapes are not - You know - strict?
-
Exactly! We started trying to express the mood, the atmoshpere only with colours, without forms. I'm glad you like it! :)
-
It's good. For me would be such a lesson pure torture, cause I am so obsessed with accurateness :-[
-
Maybe you would enjoy it too... it felt so good to draw only the colours without thinking. :)
-
Beautiful work, Lucy! It looks very nocturnal to me.
Cheers!
Markus
-
Thank you! :) Nocturnal? Yes, maybe because of the deep colours.
-
So mystical! I like it very much!
-
Thank you... I'm so happy that you guys like it. :)
-
Just made some Mothers' Day postcards with nail enamel:
-
Wow! That's so cooooool! :wOOt:
-
Wow! Seems we have a visual artist here. :) I'm especially fond of the whirling design down in the middle.
Cheers!
Markus
-
I like most the blue one :)
-
Thank you! :) The whirling one is a sea with some fish.

I just wanted to share these two colourfull paintings I found on internet during the searching for Nunavut pics.

Just got a set of pastel chalks from my grandpa, and this is my favourite bowl: :)
-
I like them :)
-
Nice!
Man, I'm totally out of practice when it comes to drawing... :ninja:
-
I like them both a lot, Lucy! The original and your drawing. :)
Cheers!
Markus
-
Nice drawing!
-
Thank you a lot, guys. :)

Less than a month ago I visited an exciting exhibition in Debrecen. It resulted one of the best exhibitions I ever saw. I just wanted to share some pictures I found now around the net. The artist is called Judit Reigl, and it was her life-ouvre-exhibition. She's about 87 years old, and she's living in Paris.

Thank You, these are wonderful. I adore the first one especially and the second is also great. But they are all very nice. :wOOt:
-
Then you'll probably like this one too:

Amazing :wOOt: :wOOt: :wOOt:
-
Really worth seeing!
-
Really worth seeing!
I second that :)
-
I got an idea :). Does anybody remember the Menorah? I always new that it's gonna be a trilogy. (Well now, after someone stealing the Menorah not complete trilogy). I finally got a pic in my head for the second part of the trilogy. :) I will need to get a paper in the shop and also some new colourful pencils, cause the ones I have are probably not enough. I'll see.
-
Hey Kris,
a Menorah is a seven-armed candle-holder, right? Did you paint one? Admittedly I don't remember - where can I see it?
Cheers!
Markus
-
(http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs39/f/2008/341/e/f/ef3fef1fbae5915a26bd2ea3abebb075.jpg)
-
Still wonderful.
May I ask, what's your plan?
-
I'd like to tell You but - omg, I am superstitious!!!   - I am afraid that if I will tell in advance I will not make it then. (I am really superstitious in this - I cannot believe myself!)
-
That's simply wow!
Can't wait to see the two other ones!
Cheers!
Markus
-
Thank You Markus
-
I'm used to do the contrary: I tell everyone, for example that I was going to dance a solo on the stage, so it would be a shame to change my mind in the last minute.
-
:lol3:
I got this custom from my Russian friend at elementary school :) She told me that she's going to do a big a change (big thing) and I asked her what and she told me that she cannot tell me cause she's afraid that if she will - then it will not happen. It's supposed to be one of "beliefs" in Irkutsk.
Somehow it got under my skin. :afaid:
And You know, I don't want anyone to steal it from me too. By sharing it here before it's done :ninja: :ninja: :ninja: Watch out for GUESTS. :fish:
-
I'm sure if you wanted you can find some more protected zone. But I accept your decision. And I'm so happy that the inspiration has come to you! :)
As for me, I'm starting a painter school tomorrow.
-
:wOOt: I mean WOOOOOT a Painter school?
-
Exactly.
-
Please tell us after the first lesson how You liked it and all around! I am so curious!
Btw, I am also painting right now - a pic I saw in mind during meditations - but under the influence of dark Septic Flesh music I changed the colours :)
-
It's going to be only some information-giving, I guess the real studying will begin on Friday. But I keep telling you everything. :)
-
Great! Thank You :wOOt: I hope You will like it and it's gonna give You something good and new, inspiring!
-
Here what I am doing now.
(http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/7785/dsc00003ia.th.jpg) (http://img525.imageshack.us/i/dsc00003ia.jpg/)
(http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/6134/dsc00004gc.th.jpg) (http://img528.imageshack.us/i/dsc00004gc.jpg/)
-
Very, very nice! Is it a mandala? :)
-
Kris, no one can steal it because only you can do it. But if you like it better this way, surprise us. :) Your current work is impressive, too. It looks - gentle.
Lucy, enjoy that course a lot and paint a lot of great paintings to show us!
Cheers!
Markus
-
I think so :) That's why I asked first time... about them.
-
I agree with Markus ;)
and I also like your current work :)
lucy, good luck with your course! I wish I had time for some artistic activity too...but with my uni schedule it's really hard to find enough time to do something... :( anyway, keep us updated and post what you learned and so on :)
-
Thank you guys!
I was there yesterday, no timetable yet, they don't know who will be the teacher, anyway, this is what I imagined for an art's school. I'll go there on Friday and Saturday to draw and write an essay as a "knowledge test". I have found a lady who studied and teached weaving that also interests me a lot. :wOOt: The people I'm going to study with are nice, and I saw the works of the graduate students: it looks like the school really lets them to create the way they want to. :wOOt: :wOOt:
-
That's fantastic! And I think You are more than skilled for such studies! :hop:
-
We'll see.
-
I just started the second part of Jewish Trilogy :) Not really but I already make a frame on the huge paper (100 x 65 cm or something like that). More tomorrow or such cause now it's bad light already and the artificial light always makes mess with the look so I work on such stuff I work only during bright daylight :)
-
New silver metallic colours by Schweiz company Lascaux - first try
(http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs315.ash2/59556_1597767301421_1153153870_1676305_7062293_n.jpg)
-
Wonderful! :yeha:
-
this is just some try paper - when the colours are dry I'll try to add the "backround" to se how the colour match, if it's the desired combination visible (if the silver ones will be on the backround visible)
-
Beautiful, Kris!
Looks like a Hebrew letter to my layman-eyes. Could that be an Aleph?
Cheers!
Markus
-
No >:( Of course it isn't. That's SHIN!!! :mad3: :mad3: :mad3:
Of course it is Aleph dear Markus
-
Well, my Hebrew doesn't go beyond "Boker tov!" (in Latin letters, please). The rest I have to fake with the help of the wikipedia. But I know for sure that's not a Shin. :ninja:
Anyway, I guessed right - and it's still very beautiful! Looking forward to the next steps of your work. :)
Cheers!

Did I get it right :wOOt: or have I made any mistakes? :afaid:
-
I didn't get it
-
I only guessed, M-R-K-? what should it be? :D
-
Oh :D Then You made it very well, dear Markus! :) Chose the right s and the right k :) Wonderful man! (http://www.lesba.cz/kavarna/Smileys/lesba/tleskam.gif)

O_o! Kris, it looks so beautiful. I'm sending it to my phone))).
-
Thank you, Kris! :)
Really looking forward to the final work.
Cheers!

A picture from Maó (Menorca). The distiortion is due to the lens and it is too hard to fix, so I decided to boost the oddity of the picture. I don't know... I like the result  I took an anodyne picture and I changed it into a strange one...

It is wonderful! I really like the way You shoot :) You should be a photographer her Majesty! : :wOOt:
-
Whoa Luthy, it's fantastic! :wOOt: Congrats!
-
It's been deleted. :bawl:
Now where can I see it?
-
My bad... I had to make a change and I deleted the previous picture. Now you can see it :lol3:
The picture has some faults, like the half-car, the half tree... But I think that the effect I did makes it something special. But... it's Photoshop, mainly. The original picture, with no dramatic effect, is boring as death :fish:
-
Yeah, really a strong one. To me it looks somehow threatening, as if something terrible was lurking behind these walls. :afaid:
Cheers!
Markus
-
I think half-car and half-tree are justified in this case. They are like a frame of the photo, and they increase the "something strange is going on"-feeling.
-
Nice Luthy! :)
-
I had this in mind for so long time. Of course, it's not perfect but when I noticed they are near our flat I picked some of them and made them for my earrings - pity it won't last long :D
I love autumn.

-
:lol3:
Lovely!! A great idea, Kris.
Something's wrong with the pic, though. I can see your earrings, but not your ears. Your nose, eyes etc. are missing as well.
:wink2:
Cheers!

Really beautiful, Kris! As I said, I like the idea - the idea to show how precious such a simple thing as a grain-spike actually is. And besides that it's simply pretty. :)
Cheers!
Markus
-
I also like this. Absolutely agree with Markus)))).

My latest "masterpiece": a little present for a son of a colleague of his fave superhero. :D

-
Wow! Lucy!
The hand perspective is awesome!
-
Thank you, but I was just copying. :)
-
Still it's great - I think I would not be able to reach so good score :)
-
Great indeed, Lucy! Very dynamic... comics meet acrylic?
Cheers!
Markus
-
I agree with Markus, very original idea of using this technique with superheroes, great job!
-
Thank you, guys. This is the first step towards the burnt canvas? :lol3:
-
Cool! Loving the pic so much!!!
-
Milady,
Thank you, guys. This is the first step towards the burnt canvas? :lol3:
I'm not really worried as long as you don't call your paintings "Painting" or "Woman with a Bird XVII" or something like that. :lol3:
Cheers!
Markus
-
Or... "Spoon". :roll-eyes:
-
Woman with a spoon in her head XXXI 2/3
-
Lucy: Wow!! You did a great job! May I ask how long did it take to finish it?
-
Thank you! :) It was not longer than 2 hours altogether.
-
:) last work... still I have to "colour" the soil and the bulb :)

:wOOt: That's a hyacinth, isn't it?
Lovely idea! I'm fond of the natural way the leaves are curving.
Cheers!
Markus
-
Yes, it's hyacinth :) It's for one of our teachers at the Jewish Cathedra :)
Thank You! :) I was trying to do my best with the leaves but it wasn't easy cause at it was first try I didn't really get how heavy the leaves will be so the wire is kind of thin for it but I hope it won't be bending by the heaviness...
-
It's wonderful, Kris, I expect it to have the same fragrance like the real flower.
-
Yes, it's hyacinth :) It's for one of our teachers at the Jewish Cathedra :)
She'll go :wOOt: :yeha:
-
I like it!! :wOOt:
-
This deserves a prize for awesomeness
-
How long did it take you do create this, Kris?
-
Several hours... It takes quite a lot of patience to put all the beads on the wire then curl it... put another beads, curl... I was doing it during the weekend - of course, with pauses... but I'd say that it was about 12 hours all together? I don't know. Next time I will measure the time! :D
-
Whoa! That's a lot of time. I wasn't quite sure that you lined up all the beads by yourself perhaps one could buy prepared wires. Respect! That makes this piece of art even more precious. I don't know if I had the patience for that...
Cheers!
Markus
-
It's very annoying in the beginning when You learn how to do the first blossom and such... first steps are very... boring and annoying but with every other blossom/leaf the You speed up and it's not that terrible anymore :) And the result is worth it
-
Final version here :)

OMCD! :w00t_jump:
Wonderful work, Kris! Thank you for sharing this with us. :)
Cheers!
Markus
-
Haha great idea. I could use something similar to this. At least it wouldn't die the next day :D
-
It's VERY nice! :wOOt:
-
Kris, this is awesome!
-
Kris, will you tell us how she liked it? :)
-
Yes I will :) If I found out : )) She's arriving today from Israel - She was here: http://spirituality.haifa.ac.il/3rd_conf/files/conference_program.pdf (http://spirituality.haifa.ac.il/3rd_conf/files/conference_program.pdf).
So we got it as surprise. I think that first date she's at school after the arrival from Israel on April 8th. Then I let You know :)
Next time I am about to create Calluna vulgaris - Common heather
(http://www.garten.cz/images_data/5066-calluna-vulgaris-arabella-vres-obecny.jpg)
So far I need to get the moss for it. Which is not that easy here in Prague :D

Kris, I love all this stuff you make with beads!
-
Thank You
-
Indeed, Kris, that's very imaginative, skillful and beautiful. I like it a lot!
Cheers!
Markus
-
It's beautiful, Kris. Everyone would be happy to get one of your beadworks.
-
It's nothing  The book explains it so easily that everyone could make it too :)
-
Nice stuff with beads dear Kris! Keep doing it! :)))
-
Cthulhu crocheting in progress... I wanted to post a pic but somehow the connection between my notebook and the cell phone got stuck.
-
Try again, Kris! It'll work when the stars are right at last. :cht:
Ctheers!
Markus
-
Doesn't work, sorry... there's something wrong with the connection :(
-
I bet those idiots at the Miskatonic University are somehow sabotaging it. :mad3:
Try again occasionally, please - they can't block you forever.

It took mi whole day to find out how to make the wings... the tutorial is so confusing an unclear. That I found it out only about 10 pm yesterday - trying since morning. Then I was too tired already to do them so I bet I will be trying whole day today too
-
Is time not meaningless to them that lie eternally at R'lyeh? :cht:
I'm looking forward to seeing the next step, Kris! :)

I have to share something with You. I have decided to make this year mostly my own (if I have cash and time) Christmas decorations. While searching for materials and such I came upon a wonderful technique with beads...
It's called beadweaving and here are some examples what can You make with such technique:

-
Those are beautiful pieces, Kris! I'm very much looking forward to seeing yours. :wOOt:
Well, Christmas is approaching quickly, so all of us who are going to make Christmas stuff of their own may well start now - be it your decorations or my cookies.
Cheers!
Markus
-
You definitely have to share some cookies though -_-
I am very unsure about the beadweaving. I found a book in Czech about it but it seems very hard. Not sure if I will be able to do such a work. :-)
For our Christmas tree I plan simple rustical stars from wooden beads:

Those are going to look lovely, Kris! :)
And when I think of your other works you've shown us I'm sure that you'll end up with such sophisticated works as on the photos after some practice.
Cheers!
Markus
-
According to the manual these stars (I will make only the smaller ones 2 of each kind) are very simple so let's see :D
-
But you'll show us yours when they're done? Oh, pretty pretty please!
-
Here You are :-) Made them today:

Wow, that was quick, Kris! And they look great. Well done! :)
-
Very beautiful! I also want to try something like that :)
-
Thanks a lot :-)
Vecor: it's really very easy!
-
I hope it's so )). For I'm going to try this soon :).

Will you show us yours, too? :)
-
Only if I am patient enough. Sometimes I incredibly lack it.
-
pours a double dose of patience into Vecordia's tea
-
You can make it xD
-
Yesterday I was very patient during the musical lesson. Quite sure, this overdose proves everything!
-
I got over this poem - it's from one of the sci-fi I'm watching:
Demons run when a good man goes to war
Night will fall and drown the sun
When a good man goes to war
Friendship dies and true love lies
Night will fall and the dark will rise
When a good man goes to war
Demons run, but count the cost
The battle's won, but the child is lost
-
Kris, you are so talented XD! Really!
I enjoyed watching everyone's work today. You guys are so creative ;D
-
Oh no, You got it wrong - I didn't created it, I just heard it in the series and I liked it so much that I wanted to share the wise words! :-)
-
And I thank you for doing so, Kris. :)
-
No, I meant YOUR works.
I navigated through all the pages of this thread and saw your works. Very talented & creative!
Creativeness always amazes me. Where is it? How is it born? Why do some people have it and other don't? It amazes me because I am everything BUT creative. Don't know how it feels to picture something and put it in art. Or how to enhance something...art is pretty awesome!
Thank you all for sharing :wOOt:
-
Oh I see.
Thank You :-)
