This is the first time I care about the contest, because I really like the Hungarian singer who will take part. Here (http://www.eurovision.tv/content/view/348/281/) you can read about her.
I can tell you that she is great, because I have already heard her singing a song in a concert, and I was crying. :) She must have a beautiful soul.
By the way she is a great fan of rock. \m/
I'm not asking you to keep your fingers crossed for her, because everyone of us has a singer from his or her own country. I just want to tell you that I'm worried for her. Not because I would be afraid that she makes a mistake or something, because I think she is pretty strong and she will do her best. I mean that if she won't be understood and honorated enough, her not very old popularity could decrease drastically. I think this contest is a milestone in her career.
What about the contestants from your countries? Do you like them?
-
Haven't even heard the representative of my country.
I'm obviously not very enthusiastic about the whole ordeal. When we win, I'll rampage through the streets naked shouting 'Hallelujah', but I'll worry about that bridge when I cross it.
-
The contest is treated very much as a joke over here - an enjoyable joke, but still a joke.
Let me tell you this: The UK entry is just plain abysmal!! :ninja: You have my full permission to laugh at it and ridicule it, no probs. - the whole of the UK will be doing the same
Lucy, I'll look out for Magdi - I'll even cross my fingers for her!!
And of course I'll watch, coz it's in Helsinki and that'll remind me of my trip there! Finland is ace and is full of fantastic people!! :drunk:

Thank you very much. :) May it sound stupid, but I believe that this way we can even help her.
By the way I've found an interview where they asked her the same question I wrote, and she answered this, revealing her personality:
Given your successes so far within Hungary, and the popularity which you enjoy, do you feel there is any kind of risk for your career if the worst happens and your song did not qualify from the semi final?
Magdi: Well, there is always risk in life, but I like challenges and i will face them.
-
Thank you very much. :) May it sound stupid, but I believe that this way we can even help her.
Well, the best way to help her is to vote for her! So if she's good I promise I will!
-
Hey Lucy,
I give the same promise as Sirius.
Cheers!

Hey Lucy, I promise that ... ... Man! I'm in North America, I cannot vote (I don't even know what the heck is Eurovision and how to vote). I'll wish her luck anyway
-
I didn't know that I can vote! :yeha: So if she's good she already has three NTSMS votes! :yeha: Thank you guys (Alu included). :)

People can't vote for their own country...
...so you'll have to go abroad to vote for her
PS Please, please don't vote for UK
-
I don't even know what the heck is Eurovision and how to vote
Eurovision is... evil.
:ninja:
You are lucky that you don't know what it is! But still, I will watch....
-
:yeha: MAGDI IS A FINALIST!!!!! :yeha:
-
Congrats, Lucy! :yeha:
I wasn't able to watch, I was working at that time, but I hope to catch the final.
Cheers!

That's great Lucy!

Congrats Lucy!
I usually don't like the Spanish Eurovision song... or I simply HATE IT. Sometimes the song is the contrary of what I like, and I pray to Notessomes it ends the last song of the contest. This year... I simply don't know which song is  I'll check if I can hear it (youtube?).
Past year entered in the competition Andorra, who sang in Catalan: as it's almost impossible for the Spanish be in Catalan, Andorra did it (there are two official languages in Andorra: Catalan and French). But they didn't pass to the final. I have to say that the song was not fantastic, but this is another story... at least I did't hate it :ninja: TI heard the Andorran song for this year, and it's not bad at all... although it's not a great song (very very very young performers of it!).
Now, I have to check 3 songs:
-Magdi, to see if I like it as much as Lucy.
-Spanish song, to see if I hate it as much as usual.
-Andorra, to know if it has reached the final.
At the end, I know I won't remember when the contest is, and I'll have to check in internet for the winner
-
And I add: I've heard both Hungarian and Spanish song. About Magdi, it's a great song! It's not my genre at all, but she performs it beautifully, and the song itself is very good. I've seen the clip, and I liked it a lot too... very original and moving!
And I've seen the Spanish too... this time I don't hate it to death. I simply hate it and want it to loose the contest as bad as it can :ninja:
-
Hey, thank you, Luthy! :)
Sorry to say that, but Andorra didn't make it to the final. :(
-
I had to imagine that, don't worry :lol3:
-
Then what do I get for not voting for Spain? ¬¬
-
Plenty of coffee for all your life!!!!! :ninja: :ninja: :ninja:
-
This is a start, I guess.
And what's in it for me if I don't recommend the Spanish song to all of my friends and acquaintances?
-
I don't think all your friends and aquitances are so stupid as to vote Spain after listening it!!!
-
Stupid? Surely not. But I can terribly convincing. :ninja: So...?
-
Prepares her cat on her way to Germany. :innocent:

Calls a cheap Chinese restaurant :ninja:
-
Buys a giaaaaaant anti-fire-burn blanket and rents a rocket. The plan to cover the Sun (and all its eclipses and such) has started. :ninja:
-
Laughs his backside off, seeing that Luth has inspired the Spanish band to a new song named "Briiing the Suuuun ba-a-a-ack!"
-
Lucy!
I watched the semi-final thing... and I gotta say that the entry from Hungary was really very good!
She gave a great performance, full of passion & emotion - a rare thing indeed in Eurovision land.
I was very pleased to see her progress - let's hope she does well in the final too! :)
-
Thank you so much. :) Your opinion has a great importance for me.
-
The final is tonight, right? So I'll watch and vote. :)
Cheers!
Markus
-
Thank you so much! :)

The show is about to start right now, so I'll grab some dinner and some wine and watch.
-
I'm watchin too :fish:
-
Hey guys, I liked watching TV together! This was the best part of all. Thank you! :yeha:
-
I wasn't able to see the contest, so I can't say which was the best song. But I'm sad Hungary didn't was first. But I'm glad Spain was 20 or below... even so, some country voted it... too bad!!
What do you think, people who saw the contest? :ninja:
-
Spain was 20 or below... even so, some country voted it... too bad!!

I'm sad Hungary didn't was first.
Thank you, Luth. :) You know, politics... we are a little lonely country. ;) But she got the prize for the best songwriter! :wOOt:
What do you think, people who saw the contest? :ninja:
Erm... just check the shoutbox! :lol3:
-
I´m late?
I couldn´t say anything about Spain´s song. Bullshit, as usual. I saw all the contest (mid-finals included) and the best songs, in my opinion were:
Ukraine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzJBspWwMsI
Finland: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ty2DABt1VSw
Slovenia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-DD_gsPtwo
Enjoy them.
