This is one of the 10 songs for the Eurovision contest. 5 have been elected by the jury, and 5 by the Internet. In a humor show very famous here, the showman presented this "singer" as the new Eurovision candidate, as a joke. But... Internet (and, as I've been said, a funny hacker :ninja: ) is weird, and he's been elected the first of the 5 attendants. So, now there's a program where the jury and the public are going to elect the Spanish Eurovision singer/band.
The thing is: the program has ended and the winner is...
CHIKILICUATRE!!!!!!
All Europeans will see he in the Eurovision contest. The weirdest, the most ridiculous, the most stupid and funny of all... I was sure he wasn't going to win, it was only a joke from Internet... but... he's the winner

I won't miss Eurovision. When Lordi sang, I didn't see it all (it finishes very late). But this time... I can't miss it, I really can't.
Another thing to say (I don't know if explain it... it can be worse for me): the humour program where "it" was born was a Catalan program. Now it's on air on all Spain, but Chikilicuatre is Catalan (although the character is supposed to be Argentinian).
:insane: :insane: :insane:

Ah... Eurovision, the greatest jokes of all ^_^
-
Yep, that's why I support Chikilicuatre (the "singer"): he's a humorist, only a character in a humor program, and he has won!! He'll represent Spain in Eurovision! It's a joke, and the attendant this year will show everybody that we take it as a such.
[dreaming awake] Imagine that he wins the Eurovision contest... [/dreaming awake]

After new Nightwish...

Are you going to watch the Eurovision final with me? There is a singer from my country who... erm... meets the EV standards in my opinion and I'm eager to see how she will be valuated. :)
-
When is it?
-
The semifinal is on the 10th May, the final on 14th May. :)
-
I think it's an exceptionally strong song and singer. By EV standards of course...
-
:yeha:
I think I'm starting to like her and the song. Maybe it's because now we hear it everywhere?
I felt that she was very strong. But I'm not sure if I feel like this because now I know her song very well, so it sounded familiar, and I didn't know the other songs at all. :)
-
Hey folks,
I couldn't really watch it due to my shifts. Is the song on youtube?
I'll try to watch the final, though - unless I'm at our cottage then.
Cheers!
Markus

Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDtqr2dYHNA&feature=player_embedded) you can watch her performance in the semifinal. :)
I hope to see her dancing more on Saturday... she's a great dancer. I do believe that they are keeping that for the final. :)
-
Thank you, Lucy!
Good voice indeed, reminds me of Jennifer Rush. I still haven't decided what my evening will be like, but if possible I might drop her a vote. :) Unless, of course, they have some occult symphonic metal in the competition or some Lovecraftian song parody. :wink2:
Cheers!

I didn't remember that tonight I've a concert... I can't miss it! The boyfriend of my sister was the guitar of a band (he left two years ago), and now the band is splitting. Tonight they play they last concert with all the present members and the old ones. No Eurovision contest for me, I fear :insane:
-
Live concerts beat ESC shows at any time, milady, so you are excused. Have a blast of a night out!
Cheers!

Though I simply fell asleep during the second semifinal, I bet they do not. :D
Thank you, guys, for your attention! Have a lot of fun, Luthy, and please, tell us everything! :)
-
For different reasons, I finally not going out. I still don't know if I'll see Eurovision, though... I'll see... :spock:
-
I hope everything's fine with you, Luth! If so, do watch it with us - some of the songs are so ghastly and eldritch that we do need some support lest we go insane. :ninja:
BTW, folks, note my latest forum signature. It's most funny tonight and gets a bit incomprehensible after the show. :roll-eyes:
Cheers!

ghastly and eldritch
Nice sig, Markus!
Erm, yes, well, this is not EXACTLY my cup of tea of a show. But some of the songs are great... erm... SOME of them. :cht2:
-
Yeah, thank you, Lucy. You know, when the idea for that signature crossed my twisted mind I just couldn't resist.
Indeed, some of the songs are good. The eldritch stuff was referring to Sweden and Ireland in the first place.
We'll see whether Hungary or Germany wins. :nana:
Cheers!
Markus
-
BTW, folks - is there an official rule saying that there have to be at least two to four people jumping around every singer?
Oh, and how much is a voting call in your country? In Germany it's 14 Ct per call, which seems pretty low to me.
Cheers!

Here it's about 0.7 EUR, 190 HUF maybe?
I guess it's because it's local for you, High Priest. :)
-
Mmmh... Moldavia and the last ones, Georgia... ... And Ukraine (the sand art is incredible!), are not bad... I've seen from 13th onwards, so no so much to give an opinion :insane:
-
I have to say that this Eurovision was far much better than the ones I saw before - technicaly, the effects, it all finally looked professional... and this time I even liked some interprests!
First time it wasn't like:
- terrible
- terrible
- terrible,....
From the short review:
I mainly didn't like that disco kinds like GB, SWE, Russia, etc..
I like folk touch in music of Bosnien/Herzegovina and in music of Moldova (even though it was disco-like).
I liked Kati's voice. :)
I liked Spanish lady voice. (Even though the song was terrible)
I liked strong voice of lady from Austria.
I loved blues/folk sound of Finland, Italy, Iceland, and someone else I do not remember probalby.
I also liked a lot song of Lithuania. And the girl was very nice too.
Ukraine's sand effects were awesome and the "fog" was good too (no one jumping around!)
And Georgia suprised me with originality (placed rap into pop/rock) and quite a really good sound.
Ireland's Lipstic was funny :D
German girl was very nice!

As usual, the Spanish songs forgets that it's an European competition. Not as bad as it has been sometimes, but definetly too much "Spanish song" to have any success. Sang in Spanish, and with a very Spanish idiom: "Que me quiten lo bailao" (the song's title) means something like "nobody can quit me the good I've had". It's a very idiomatic thing, not for an Eureopean contest :roll-eyes:
I liked the most rock songs... and the sand, as I've said. Some time ago I saw in Youtube a fantastic video about this... I suppose from the same artist. Incredible, really.
Nope, I'm not going to vote :evil2:
PS. We're talking about Eurovision in NTSMS? Notessomes assists us!!!! :ninja: :spock:
-
Now I'm Youtubing for some of the songs and about France... :wOOt: :disgust: He's really really good, but not for Eurovision, don't you think? :cht:
-
Mmmhhh... I'm still waiting waiting for the song with the inpronouncable lyrics where they light the stage all in green and where the around-the-singer-jumpers are wearing tentacled costumes (so eldritch! so cyclopean!).
Prolly the stars were just wrong for that kind of song. Anyway, it was fun to watch this with you (and a gazillion other people, but chiefly with you). Neither Hungary nor Germany won, Spain didn't turn out last, and yes, the French singer had a great voice.
Lucy, I don't think the voting was so cheap in Germany because the event was in Germany this time. They gather the calls in each country if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, with the next phone bill I'll call my provider and claim that I've never called this number. :lol3: (Not really...)
Cheers!

May great Ctul-Hoo guide your cat-induced lucyd dreams.
It's so great to be a part of this community.

OMCD! We did it. We shared the Eurovision night in Notessomes palace... Until the green-tentacled-one delight us with its song, I'll believe the world is ending...
Neverthesless... I've enjoyed it. Apity I did not joined you and the programme until the 13th song :bawl:
PS. 13th pursues me. For good :cht:
-
Yes, pity I joined You late too :)
But is this every year? We might have a bigger gathering next time! :hop:
Do You know who won?
