Coca cola made a contest of mixing two different styles of music (it has to be an original mix) and the winner "win" a Drum kit, electric guitar, bass, synth and they record your video song. So i decided to participate with a "Metal Cumbia" and I hope I can win. I'm going to record the song this week i hope, and I'll upload here.
May the force guide me to win.

I forgot something, the contest is only available in Mexico

Hey Lava,
sounds very interesting! Good luck to you!

Hey Lava,
umm... what is Cumbia?
Good luck, anyway!

Good luck Lava!!! :ninja:

Ha! We'll get to hear Lava's contribution, anyway, won't we?

Whoa!!!!!! Nice idea :wink2:
Good luck then!!!!

Great idea Lavaniegos!
I've long been wondreing why no one ever had the idea of making a style such as "Latin Metal".

Hello folks!
I recorded today the electric guitars, and I'll record the bass and clean guitar in Monday. I think it sounds nice for "demo quality". Some friends from a Ska band will record the trumpets and wednesday or Thursday we'll record the female and chorus voices. I hope the song sounds nice.
-
Sounds good. Once you have the final recording, try posting it here. :wink2:
-
You're making us very curious. Sounds like a coll project! Please post your results - and good luck!
Cheers!

Hey Lava,
thanks for sharing, I think it's really great! Congrats! Metal and cumbia - with audible influence of Therion.
-
Thank you. Yes it's true , the music i make is very influenced by therion.. Next week we'll mix again the song and it will sound better. This is the quick first sample.

Here is the lyric in Spanish and in English.
Cumbia Oscura Dark Cumbia
Baila, baila cumbia oscura Dance, dance dark cumbia
Siente el brillo de la luna Feel the moonbeam
En la noche es la danza In the night is the dance
Es la danza de la runa Is the runa dance.
Bebe, danza y celebra Drink, dance and celebrate
Con nosotros el aquelarre with us the sabbath
No hay reglas no hay leyes There aren’t rules or laws
Eres libre en este baile!. You are free in this dance!.
En la noche bailamos In the night we dance
Y en el día el reposo and in the day we rest.
En la noche danzamos In the night we dance.
‘Eterna cumbia oscura’ ‘Eternal dark cumbia’
Es el poder que desciende Is the descending power
“Musicae Tenebrae” ‘Musicae Tenebrae’
Descifra todas las notas Descipher all the notes
Y canta junto a la Luna. And sing together with the moon.
Baila, siente la energía Dance, feel the energy
Cósmica sabiduría Cosmic wisdom
Bebe, canta y susurra Drink, dance and whisper
Nox es eterna Sofía. Nox is eternal Sophia.
En la noche bailamos In the night we dance
Y en el día el reposo and in the day we rest.
En la noche danzamos In the night we dance.
‘Eterna cumbia oscura’ ‘Eternal dark cumbia’
Ven, en la noche es el baile Come, in the night is the dance
Ven, únete a la danza!. Come, join the dance!
(Se repite el inicio)
“sabor con la cumbia oscura jaja”

I was about to ask for the lyrics when I found that posting, by the way, and now they're sending shivers down my spine.
Lava, you haven't mentioned yet, if I'm not mistaken, who did the lead vocals...
Cheers!

Eya Lava! Do you have a band? It sounds quite professionally, and I can say that...
although I don't like too much latin styles (some of them are so repeated that I started to hate them), this mix sound really good! :wOOt:
I'm waiting for the next song improvement... you'll post a pic of the prize when you'll win it, won't you? :yeha:
-
Wow, now I saw the lyrics - really very great! Congrats again! :yeha:

I don't have band, I used to have, but It's very difficult to me playing with someone. I'm quite special. I think this song sounds nice because Cumbia music shares a lot of music structure from Metal.
Of course I will post a pic of the prize if I win.
I'm thinking to make a Mambo metal, tango metal, salsa metal and bolero metal HAHAHAHA.
-
Great one Lava! I's better than I expected, and yes, truly Therion influenced.
Good luck on the contest! :yeha:
