Behemoth's Nergal ill

(1/2) > >>

Aluqak:
Hey guys,
I just read that Nergal (Behemoth's leader) has been diagnosed with leukemia, and needs a marrow transplant to fight the sickness back. I'm copying at the end of this post the official statement of the band, just to keep the ball rolling.
I'm a good fan of Behemoth's, and I'm pretty in shock by this news. I hope he'll fine soon. Horns up to him and all the good energy :med2:

"BEHEMOTH leader Nergal has just found out he needs a marrow transplant to fight the sickness he has recently been diagnosed with (leukemia). In light of this he wants to remind everyone about the need to be on the marrow registry. The more people get tested and donate, the more of a chance for life there is for him and people in the same situation.

BEHEMOTH and Metal Blade would like to thank everyone for their support and well wishes during this difficult time. The best thing we can all do right now is learn about the marrow donation process, not only help save one of metals leaders, but to also help save countless others out there struggling with the same disease.

Markus:
Hey Alu,

strange how strongly such a message affects one when you don't know that person personally but appreciate his work.

I respect his way of dealing with this a lot. He doesn't keep it to himself but makes his illness public, also to use his popularity to help others.

Myself, I've had my blood typified like two years ago so I can donate marrow if needed. Recently I've heard that they don't even need to gain some actual bone-marrow in a short operation anymore but simply can wash the needed cells from the donor's blood. So the process has become even easier for the donor. I'll donate without hesitation if they ever get back to me.

So let's hope that Nergal's appeal will result in finding a donor for him and for many others.

Cheers!

Markus

Agnes:
I know it for some time. I wish Nergal all the best.

ps. The end of the world is coming closer. Look, Peter Steele, Dio, my bf's band's vocalist is also very sick. Now Nergal...

lavaniegosII:
